Cal Expo is running AMA flat track on July 24 , so the Sacramento Mile back on the Big Car sked would be a nice return

There's one in Swartz Creek, MI not sure of the size but when it was built there was a stipulation -no auto racing. Too bad it's a nice place, horse racing's not for me. My friend went & was saying how boring it was. Nobodies banged the wall, crashed, rubbed or nothing. Very next race the horse went nuts ran the driver & the bike he was sitting right into the wall. Driver went up & over outta the park. Buddy stood up & yelled, "Yeah that's what I was talkin about"

Here's a satellite image of what's left of the 1 mile dirt track Earl built Southeast of the 1/2 mile but never finished back in the 1970's. Really doubt this track would be in the running for a Silver Crown date. It's kinda' neat to speculate on what might have been had he finished it and got it up and running.

Wish Earl woulda' finished the mile track. I'd bet today there'd be two Silver Crown shows at Eldora every year. One on the mile and one on the 1/2 mile.

Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.

Anybody know what they are going to do with the horse track up in Toledo, OH called Raceway Park? Horses are off the track forever starting this summer. Not sure of the size of the track or the surface but the facility from google map looks real nice. Close to I-75 for Michigan/Ohio fans, 80-90 for PA and north IN fans and only 4 hours from Indy with the new us. 24. Silver Crown and USAC has not done well on the paved Toledo Speedway but maybe a dirt show might be worth a try. Lots of local dirt fans with Attica, Fremont, Oakshade, Limaland, and Waynesfield within 100 miles.
