I want to apologize to you for providing a site that drowns all the positive(USEFUL) things you do in a sea of negativity(USELESS).

I know this thread probably won't get much attention because only negative things seem to gather any fanfare.

I truly appreciate the hard work, the long hours, the money you spend, the great races you provide and everything else in between. I just wish others fully understood and appreciated all you do rather than constantly ******** about it.

Thank you for giving this 18 year cancer fighter something I truly love before I die.
Amen!! After going to my wifes best friends funeral today, i feel our problems are nothing. She was 28, had a 2 week old, a 1 and 1/2 year old a loving husband, she died in her sleep.
Thanks

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are the type of things that should bring us all back to reality. I have said it before and I will say it again. If you think all of the racing world is screwed up and you have serious problems, you might need a dose of reality. Call me up and we can go visit a children's hospital and then you can tell me all about it.

Bill, without a little debate, controversary, venting etc, this site would wither on the vine.....it's called a "forum" and people discuss and debate their opinions on a forum. Just don't let it get too personal or, nasty. Otherwise, let 'em have at it. I was a promotor for three years at Lawrenceburg Speedway. I knew going in I was going to take a lot more heat than praise (and I did!!). Please don't over censor the site and turn it into a snoozer.......Craig

Bill, you were already my hero, now I admire you even more. Talk about telling it like it is...BRAVO!

And Dave, thanks for for the powerful reminder that life is short and fleeting and every day is a gift to be enjoyed.

I am constantly amazed by the comments of people who profess to "love" racing. Somehow they think they are helping the sport by telling everyone that this race sucked or that race sucked and such-and-such track is no good. We live in a country that provides us with the freedom and security to do almost anything we want. We have access to the wonderful sport of auto racing, and every time we walk through the gates we are enjoying a privilege that millions of people do not have. Yet, that reality is completely lost on so many people, and they've developed the terrible habit of saying something negative every time they speak.

It's like somebody presenting you with a beautiful bouquet of roses, but all you see are the thorns.

A perfect example was Bob's post a couple of weeks ago promoting HARF. It's a wonderful organization filled with people who love and cherish racing, and for all these years the officers have worked their tails off FOR FREE just to keep the club alive. Yet, sure enough, within a couple of posts here come folks who bitched about HARF!! You know, if you can complain about HARF, you can complain about anything.

I suppose I speak for a lot of us who are privileged to work in this sport when I admit that sometimes the negativity makes you question if it's worth it. But every now and then someone like Bill comes along who reminds me why I love the people in racing.

Thanks for the opportunity to vent...

My dad and I used to go to a lot of shows. Dad is now blind and frail and can't go. I think of that and it is very humbling. I am grateful for every race I can get to.

I don't post a great deal here but I do read every day. This is such a great site, and I truly appreciate it. Constructive discussion is one thing, but there is a lot of mean-spirited posting at times.

I also think there are a lot of crabby race "fans" out there right now for whatever reason; check out another forum website that shall remain nameless where praise of driver/track/event can get one scarred for life LOL! At least iow.com hasn't descended to that level. Thank you Mr. Gardner!

I'll bring up the speedway motorcycle site again, you guys have no idea how idiotic people can be. I wont even post on it due to the fact it's impossible to without a issue coming up. This site is a cake walk compared, also very helpful. probley most guys on here have been helped somehow by another member.
