"mega haulers" don't make the cars go faster or the racing any better. Don't know what pits you walked through but i didn't see too many open trailers ether. Usually love your updates but this one was off the mark my freinthis race was as good as any you could see. Hell even the bommer race was great clean racing and very exciting.

I think someone took my post the wrong way. I meant without any big money teams, The racing was great!.

And I have nothing against the bigger teams either.

Cannot complain about the car counts, at least from a sprint car standpoint. Tonight, a count of 29 on hand. As expected we were treated to a lot of Ohio drivers that we don't get to see in the Hoosier State.

Justin Grant is owed a few victories at Lawrenceburg. Saturday was payback number 2. Looks like he is trying to make a habit of this.

Chad reeled him in for the final few laps and actually edged passed him coming off turn two (where Chad was stronger) but Justin retook the lead off turn 4 where he was stronger.

Jason Soudrette was strong all night and finished out in 4th. Can a win be very far away?

The Whiteds went from having no cars a couple years ago to being a two car team last night. Brandon Whited, who never had any luck at Lawrenceburg, put it all together and brought it home 5th.

The track was a little dry and dusty but that was to be expected since it hasn't rained much around here in a while.

Section A was, as Rick Lane puts it, in missing man formation. In Marv's place was a basket full of petunias put there by the Rudisells. Chaplain Jackie had an invocation that didn't mention Marv by name but we know what the inspiration of it came from. Even Chad Cunningham gave a shout out to Marv and his current situation. Leann and Todd Clemons brought a life size blowup of Marv's picture to be placed in section A for the evening. My stroll along the pits I was met with several well wishers from one of Marv's old favorites Rusty McClure to one of his current favs, Chad Boespflug and many too numerous to mention. Chad gave one of his t-shirts to Marv among a few other thing which I promised to deliver when the time is right.

It just goes to show racing people are the best.

I wanted to start off by saying thanks to my buddy, Aaron Fry, for sticking with the BOSS deal and I'm glad I finally got to run with you after helping you get things off the ground last season. It means a lot! Thanks for keeping the Steel Block award too, wish it was still $100,but the extra $50 sure helps too! Aaron Middaugh and Kyle Conaway, Dustin Smith's car owner, are 2 of the nicest guys I've met in racing for a long time! It was fun battling Spille for the last transfer spot in the B too!
Thanks to my car owner, Jeff Sweat, Mom & Dad, and all of my great sponsors too!

I looked for Bob up in the stands at Intermission but didn't see him, Just to give a welcome back and glad he's upright! Chatted with Chad B on the Midway before the races about friday at SOS, Seen many BARC members in attendance as well as several other Racing family. Stopped by the Big A to pay respects.

Had a great night, Once the sun set it was perfect weather! Also a Shout out to Adam Cruea who was running very well until tangling in 3/4 with a spun car. Very good for less than a dozen races and only about three at the Burg in a Sprinter.

In regards to open trailers, big rigs and enclosed trailers are nice but i think they may be hurting the local tracks. Two years ago, after selling our rig, we had to barrow an open trailer for the last three weeks of season. We always stop at BP station on 50 for ice and other items. when we had rig no one ever asked anything about what we were doing, but with the car on open trailer, every week we had people and kids wanting to look into the car. They would ask questions like what kind of race car is this and where do you race at ?? these were people who live less than 20 miles from the track !! We even saw one of the families at the track a week later. in the old days these cars were being seen on the road every week and the stands were always full. every open trailer rig is a benefit to the sport.

charles, look forward to visiting with you maybe next week. thanks and glad to be standing upright.

I remember those days very well, Just stopping by the Gas station or something before or after the races and people going up to See/Ask ect.

Teams putting the kid in the drivers seat even when it was on the trailer.
Just being out there to be seen is more than any radio/tv advertisement can give.

I also think there needs to be as much interaction at the tracks as possible. All tracks should have a pits open for the hour before racing or something just to get the familiarity between fans and teams.

I doubt without drivers and teams making me feel welcome, Getting to know them a bit as a kid, My interest would be half of what it is by just some cars with people I don't know running around in a circle.

Even the decal of a sprinter on the back of a hauler with a wheel in the are and a "Follow us to the Sprint Car races" message is good advertisement.

That being said, I can fully understand wanting to be able to lock stuff up and have a seat and some AC, Expecially if your a team that travels a lot.

as stated earlier the racing was great in all classes. wasn't going to go but glad i did. there were a lot of late model fans in the stands since area tracks were closed for the dream at eldora. they left happy campers from what i saw. the flowers in marv's seat was a great guesture by dave. as marv would say "i must be off".
