57 Levi Jones 71 Jerry Coons 51 Mike Hess For the most part, the sprint race was a pretty good race. When Levi caught Jerry Coons, they went at it pretty good for a couple of laps, but Jones kind of checked out and left after that. Even on the last restart, Jerry had another chance at him and when he couldn't make the pass, Levi drove away, again. The best battles went on for most of the race and happened right behind the leaders. Bacon, Shuman and Hess really fought it out for third thru 5th. It looked liked Hess would probably end up in fifth, but he made a nice comeback after the last restart and won that battle. Worley Jr looked impressive in climbing his way up to 5th. But hey, if you're in Illinois, driving car #66, with "Amati Racing" written on the side of it then I guess you better be able to drive a little, huh? Midgets started off the program with bang. Three of those heats were the best three heats I'd seen all year. Three and four wide, banzai moves with little to no room to thread the needles that they were threading, like it was nothing! I love midgets on this track! When those heats were over I had a scratchy throat from yelling and a scrape on my left elbow from leaning far enough to contact the open wooden bleacher spot beside me. The track did kind of go away as the evening progressed and that did have an effect on the racing, some. It was still a really good race, though. East led for most of the early going, but was converged upon by Clauson and Hagen (at Granite City, that's what you call your worst nightmare) and when East dropped down to protect against Hagen, Clauson got around him on the outside and just slowly checked out. A Kyle Larson blown tire with two laps left provided Hagen with a last shot. As they restarted, you heard the familiar sick sound that only a midget motor that is laying down can make coming from BC's car, opportunity knocked, Hagen answered the door and drove home unchallenged for the win. It's amazing that BC was able to hold off Zach Daum, who was on a late race rampage and the always high-flying Brad Sweet, to hold on to the second spot. I love midgets on this track. Did I say that, already? Jerry

This poster is starting to make me regret that I ever went there and voted for Jessica, in the first place. I guess the three separate threads that they already have running aren't enough, in dirt-fan's opinion. Jerry

It seems that every thread has had a post concerning voting for Jessica. There are currently 4 different (same) threads asking for IOW fans to vote for Jessica. I personally hope that she wins but in my opinion we really don't need every thread on the board injected with a post asking for votes.

Dave was in the Wilke #5. And per an earlier reply, this was a passing points event. I don't remember where Dave started in his heat, but obviously didn't earn enough points to transfer to the A.
