No one has called me about this but thats typical of some on here. Some are trying there hardest to pick anything they can to bash us. They can't bash the purse so they start to hunt for something else but thats the way it is. Next it will be the guys that run with us. Whats sad is that most of bashers wouldn't consider us regardless.I want to thank all the racers and all the fans that understand whats going on and why we're doing this and thank god theres been more positive then negative although some of you have done your best to put the negative spin on our series.Like I've been told, with every negative post that is put on here it just shoves this thread right to the top.So anyway if any of you have any question feel free to call. (812) 420-1973. I have tried to respond through the PM method but that doesn't seem to work because then I'm accused of hiding out and if I post, well, then I'm told I either post to much or I'm unprofessional.Welcome to racing in Indiana I guess.

Up to 22 confirmed sprints now with 6 that will let me kow Weds and we have 16 full midgets plus 4 VW cars, plus 3 focus cars and 7 1000cc mini's. Not bad for a nothing, meaningless and I believe the word was insignificant series.Did I miss one? We offer a choice, thats it,no more no less, just a choice. It's up to you the racer and whats best for you. All I ask is that you take a look at our purse structure and make a comparison and then call your play.

SPRINT CARS:
1.)MAY 8TH. TWIN CITIES IN. 25 LPS
$2000,1000,725,625,525,450,425,400,375,350,325,300 ,275,(14-20) 250

Midgets MAY 8TH TWIN CITIES RCWY
$1500,625,500,450,400,350,325,300,275,250,225,(12-20)200.
Just keep up the good work John. Forget the na-sayers. If this works out like I think it will this should give you somthing to shove in their pie-hole. Some people will b!t#$ at anything to get their way.
Cheers

I see that out of all the people who enjoy coming on a public message board and ambusing a series that hasn't even begun yet, only one posted their identity. Don't give these people the time of day.

I don't know about those other series, I assumed they were organized by the promotion groups behind each facility. I am not worried about those series because the team I help runs southern Indiana. I respect your confidence in the ASCT and I hope it is a success.

Now I'm curious. Is the team you help planning to support the new series by attending the ASCT opening night at Twin Cities Raceway this Saturday night? If so, I understand your question and concern. If not? I don't get it.

I have been involved in racing for over thirty years and hear the same complaints week after week. "The racers who take all the risks and put on the show aren't being paid enough." This new series is stepping up to the plate and addressing that complaint by paying deeper into the field than almost any other midwestern weekly track or regional series. I would rather see the money spread throughout the field instead of being piled into the winners share. I see some great racing throughout the field and those guys have the same expenses as the winner.

The only way this deal will survive is if the racers who have been doing the complaining about the purse being piled on top and not being spread deeper through the field support it. I for one am willing to give it a chance before making judgement.

I will be there to support this series for their opening night because I believe the racers aren't getting paid enough for the entertainment they provide and the risks they take. I want this series to survive for that reason and for the fact this is the only place in the area the steel block cars can race against the aluminum block cars where the aluminum cars have a minimum weight rule.

I decide where I go each week and this Saturday I will be at Twin Cities Raceway in North Vernon along with the majority of the push truck crew who pushes at Bloomington Speedway every Friday night. (And I don't mind signing my name to my posts.)

As a side note, I would like so say Sam started this series as a completely totally steel block effort. As a LAST DITCH COMPLETELY FINAL effort... he changed to open engines to make sure he could finish his year and pay the racers purse.

So Sam, kudo's....however this whole Strictly Steel to begin with and all of the change "to anyone come one please come" before the season even starts just seems like another squirrel trying to find his nut. That's all.

Either way there will be racing, but in the end... you stated it was a Steel Block series... in the end.. it isn't and it is that idea people still have. A Statement is just that.

I thought the original post was asking who would be there to race.

I will be there to spectate.

If you have a question about how the purse is to be paid, why don't you start your own thread, instead of hijacking one that was started in good faith?

This is the first time I've been called "a squirrel trying to find his nut." The thing is you have been against our deal regardless if it was a steelblock or not. You may want scroll down and see the growing list of names. But again like I said right to the top...

My only thought is that John had better pay the posted purse, in full, or he'll be lit up like a Christmas tree. And while I wish him well, I've been around too long and heard/seen too many stories where promoters/organizers cheated the racers' and the fans.... in one way or another.

Oh, and I agree that the original "steel block" portion of the series will quickly go away....the aluminum block guys will probably dominate.....

I can tell you that John is working hard to create special awards for the Steel Block participants who show their support to the series....

Now....Hopefully we can get back to what this thread was started for....Let the racers SHOUT OUT and let their fans know they will be not only supporting the ASCT, but also Twin Cities and the fans who love sprint car and midget racing in that area.....

My only question ,is why are they running 4 other classes, and are the sprints and midgets going to be first or last.
