Also, if you go early enough, when you get to Michigan Ave., turn Right, and the Econo Lodge is on the right, and then if you turn left at the light at Taco Bell, the Holiday Inn, and Days Inn are on the right (walking distance from Bob Evans and Waffle House)....all 3 of those motels usually have parking lots full of race cars

All good places.

Just a word to the wise when booking motel rooms....Check and see what the cancellation policy is. Last year when the Friday night race was rained out a friend of mine had reservations at the Greenville Inn,called to cancel the room friday morning and was told there was a 24 hour cancellation policy. Most of the major chains give you until 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. that day to cancel.

Thanks for all the help... I'm coming from S. Indiana, but that doesnt matter much since we are only staying friday night so we will be driving to the track, to the hotel, then back to the track before heading home. I think we have settled on Holiday Inn express in Celina...hope to see everyone this weekend

You have to be real careful and lucky about this. A lot of inns put the 24 hour cancellation policy in very fine print. It does not matter what chain, each hotel is different even if they are part of the same chain.

The Comfort Inn at Greenville cut me a break last year on Friday. They have the 24 hour policy, but because they were not sold out they did not charge me. Kudos to them.
