The 2010 sprint rules also state that the weight is including the driver, also there is going to be some kind of tire rule and no 2 way radios for paved events

OK... So how much will it cost now to have a legal USAC midget at the track?

Bolt on weights? How much and where do you put it?

Rev limiter? How much?

Ford and Mopar dropped out a few years ago. Ford kind of stayed in with the Esslinger deal but they weren't called strictly Ford engines.

I am saying as of today.... right now there are only 2 teams that are factory backed teams.... and they are both Toyota teams

AND Like the original post of this thread stated that now Toyota is pulling out just like all the other factory's did with their support.

That is incorrect again.....I talked to one of those teams and they said without a doubt they are a factory supported team!!!!!

Toyota is NOT pulling out is what I was told

If this is true maybe we can get back to having reasonably priced midget engines.

It was my understanding that the Terry Klatt/Bob East team had backing from Ford Racing.

When/where did Mr. Miller make that statement?

He said it during his coverage of the Chili Bowl on The Speed Report.

Well, I cannot speak for other teams, but I do know that Ford Racing is involved with Bob East for 2010. They are backing East's efforts in all three USAC divisions.

Robin misspoke when he included Ford in his initial report.

No problem.

I simply posted what he reported to try and see if the tide was turning on factory money in midget racing and going back to days when engines were far more cost efficient.

THere is one way of getting many many more cars to the track. If a guy can build an engine for under $10,000 and stand a fair chance at winning, people will dust those cars off that are sitting in their shops, purchase them off the classifieds, or not list them for sale and get back into racing.
