At one point he said he didn't swerve at the official and compared himself to the guy in front of the tank in China. Also stated that a lot of this was over his sponsors not getting represented. I am sure they are glad they sponsor him now.

Shane,

I loved the quote that when he said that he had 28 stickers on the car and that 22 or 23 are related to his dad's business. He then said that he has spoken to all of them. I am sure they called to say how proud they were of his antics.

I felt his opening statement wasn't very strong. He danced around being sorry and not being sorry. He also claims that MSCS is screwing him on sponsorship deals and money owed him. He also dodged between swerving at an offical and not swerving at him. Which is it John?

He also said that he had issues with Jason and said that girlfriends shouldn't be allowed to work as officials. I thought Sean asked the questions but also continued talking and helped John answer them. Not exactly great interviewing skills.

My only question for John now is this. If you are that fed up with MSCS, so why did you drive all the way to Danville, IL to race with them? I will make a prediction here. This whole ordeal isn't over with yet. I hope that I am wrong.

Mike

Yet another spoiled brat peddaling daddy's dollars around the track...too d^mn irresponsible, arrogant, and immature to understand and appreciate the opportunities afforded him. This kid needs to get the boot and a solid a$$ whipping.

Before anyone assumes I'm an old complainer: I'm 22

I also wanted to state that the sponsorship comment and the Tiennemen square reference was made in his prepared statement. So it wasn't just off the cuff.

One has to wonder how many of those sponsors/customers still are. Used to enjoy visiting with them, those days are over.

For those who missed it, he came on and read a prepared statement which manned up to nothing, but instead bitched about how much he has gotten screwed. When asked if he regretted his actions, he replied with "I do, and I don't". He said he did not regret it because attention needed to be brought to his issues, and he accomplished that. He was asked later if this scenerio were to come up again, how would he respond? He replied that he would "probably" pull in and go to the pits. Any apology he gave was an afterthought to the excuses, and things he was ******** about. He said according to the rule book, first infraction is loading up for the night so he served his punishment....jackass. I wish he'd have tried this crap at Eldora under Earl's reign, he'd be eating his meals through a straw, and never welcome back....and rightfully so.

What I could stand to listen to--before I dismissed his continuing unseriousness about "the whole thing", and turned the show off--just reinforced that a teenage boy is not an ideal candidate to create a statement of remorse. An immature boy is required to actually feel remorse if he is to attempt to explain his remorse. Memmer exhibited more his contempt for the sanctioning body than his contrition at his appalling actions. Such is life. There are a hundred acres of growing up that boy needs to plow on his way to manhood. Hopefully nobody gets run over or otherwise injured on his journey.
I'm sure he'll be racing at some of the events I see this year and others. I won't be rooting for him.

If John's answers were as lacking in contrition as others have described(I didn't listen, so it sounds like I didn't miss much), he should not be surprised if a bunch of other tracks BAN him. He's a danger every time he gets on the track....

And where was the "balance", was the MSCS side of the story told?

Swerving his race car at an official is unacceptable; whether or not the MSCS is screwing him does not justify that action, alone!

Let's just hope that other race tracks and sanctions hold John accountable for his on track actions!

Can MOST of you HONESTLY say you would have changed your mind about him before you listened to the show? I am betting not. He was hung from the highes tree in your minds so why even bother listening??

Hey Memmer.... You know where you went wrong. Now just go race.
