Cecil, I believe the kid runs Karts too and has aparations of being a driver on the big track some day. I know some drivers expecially with Wings say they can see him much better than the flagstand.

Chuck,

I think you are confusing him with the last junior flagger as far as kart racing goes. If you watch him, he sometimes sees the accidents before Tim does but always looks to Tim before he throws the appropriate flag. I am not sure where the distraction is and I think he does one hell of a job!

That kid does a great job ! He is always scanning the track looking for trouble. If it is such a distraction maybe you should consider sitting where you can't see him ! If I were Dave I would let him in for free every weekend !

Its where he is standing...Why is he between the flagman and turn 4 not after the flagman?????When your in the stands "to me" its a distraction....If any other kids where standing there ,the track security would tell them to sit down. What if a car was to get over the fence and he was to get hurt, then who's fault would it be????? I've got a boy that wants to be an announcer and he has a mega phone maybe he could come and stand there and announce the races??????

If your racing and looking that much in the stands for grandma and aunt maud, you shouldn't be driving a car to begin with....so let the kid be, he could be watching TV or playing video games wasting his life away...sheeesh...be thankful he has a guardian who takes him to places like the track.... Kudos to that person or people who get him there so he can enjoy the moment

I love it when the kids get into it that much! I remember several years ago a father & son team flagging at East Bay and I thought they were awesome!

I also think its cool your son wants to announce. Maybe they should give him a test run at it, let him interview a few drivers 1st???

USAC used to always have the best flagmen, they had style and complete control of the race.

Where did I ever say that I'm driving a car????? I pay at the gate just like the other people to sit in the stands....What if I was at the movie cinema and someone down in front of me was flailing around would I have the rite to say anything???? I bet if you ask the REAL flagman he would say that it is VERY DISRESPECTFUL to have that kid there doing that...?Maybe all of you can request that he stands in front of your area. I could always move my seat to KC raceway I heard he's paying $3000. to win in sprints and will probably have a full field of cars. And only ONE flagman...

Everyone always wants to know how to get more fans in the stands and draw more interest in the sport.Well I can tell you this kids like him are the future of the sport ! I bet that when he has a wife and kids they will be in the stands at a racetrack and I hope that one of his kids will be there waving the flags ! Have fun at KC !

FYI, The kid or a kid has been down there flagging for the better part of five to six years. I sit in his section, Never really bothered me. Im watching the track. I don't think the seats are reserved. Turn Two over there is wide open and nothing in front of you. Thought about trying that one myself

Take care
Chuck
