0.5times. They wheel packed a little after hotlaps. Eldora raked the top after heats. Kokomo usually waters and rakes after heats. Haubstadt did 1.5hrs of prep durring the show the time I went and another 1.5 getting lineups correct.

Equipment is another valuable tool.....you gotta have water trucks, sheepsfoot, and tractors and much more. Keeping this equipment running and working is a chore sometimes. We at Lawrenceburg spent alot of money on new equipment this spring, we bought a 4,000 gallon water truck, a vibratory sheeps foot and built a cool drag. Last week was a hell week for all the equipment, i played water pump swap 3 times, one pump locked up, and cost us time and energy. In closing i want to say take it easy on Gas City, i know they work very hard on the track and if it was'nt perfect it was'nt because of effort. Yes this weekend our track was good, but it could go the other way very easily. I applaud our track crew for doing such a great job and working on it everyday and night. Tim Johnson, Mel Johnson, Dave Reese and Myself, along with other guys who help some also.
Thanks for reading, Dave Rudisell

I thought you guys were perfect. Now IM dissapointed

Anyone who bitches about track prep should be given free reign to do as they please with the track the night of racing and then have to face the lynch mob when they screw it up. The track prep really begins days before race night and the weather absolutely plays a significant roll in how the track will be. I've worked at enough dirt tracks and seen enough others to know that sometimes you can only do so much with what you're given.

Well yeah, Gas City kinda sucked during the heats, everyone playing huggy pole who had a transfer spot... but there were guys trying to run the top and making good of it after a couple of laps of falling back... namely Darland, Jones, and Clauson. Now THAT was cool to watch! :thumb

Friday night was a joke. Two hours of track prep. and maybe an hour or so of racing is not my idea of a fun evening.

Gas City will get one more chance when I go there for Midget Week, if they screw up then, I am done with them. There are too many other tracks that get track prep. right to put up with I69 Dust City.

Wow, you must really keep track of that stuff. Wish I had that much time on my hands to do that.
