I think you are right, I would say every time D.C. gets the chance to run Haubstadt he will be there. I wonder if the MDC can talk his wing owner into taking him to Haubstadt for the WoO show. Clayton at Haubstadt w/ a wing, that would be something to see.

MSCS is becoming (or is) a much better series than USAC. They pay better, don't travel and have no engine rules.

Sure they don't run a 10 month schedule but who can afford to run one?

USAC does have a awesome reputation for putting on the best shows on dirt and pavement all over the country but how many "regular teams" that aren't financed by millionaires actually can run the whole series on what they earn in winnings like they used to back in 60's & 70's. Now you have to have a pavement car and a dirt car with compatible engines for both.

I know this is the same problem we have at all levels of racing but I don't think that by paying more money to the winner is the answer like the new director of USAC is proposing, at least thats what I have heard his answer to the problem is.

Shortbus is absolutely correct! Some of you probably didn't realize it , or probably forgot about it... Clayton raced for three or four years with the wing in Missouri. He was lightning fast with the wing back then as a youngster. I have seen him many times with the tin top. I'm sure he will be as fast as ever.

Beat me to it...

It's not a big surprise, really. After all, Clayton raced with a wing before coming to USAC...

Moto, from our experience with MSCS, the pay is front heavy. Otherwise, it's not much better than a regular show at some of the local tracks. However, that front money draws some good cars and drivers and the shows are usually great. The last MSCS show at Florence Speedway (KY) was as good as it gets in sprint car racing. Ballou put on a clinic that night.

Haud said that after he won the million. I probably would have to. Seriously I know DC is a good racer. I don't think I have seen him run a sprint car. Yes I knew he raced sprint cars before the non wing sprints. So I guess I will see what he has for them. And I expect he will do quite well.

Man, you opened a can of worms now! This is the wrong board to imply that the term "sprint car" means with wings. I think to most people on here, there are sprint cars, and then there are winged sprint cars. Prepare for a tongue-lashing!
