I didn't know that. You learn something new everyday.
How exactly did Kahne know precisely what position he was in? Unless he had some sort of elaborate hand signal system worked out with his crew, even if he were to count cars ahead of him, would he have known which cars might have been lapped cars?

You race, you do your best, sometimes you make a mistake. Have you ever tried your hardest at work and had a setback?

Last night I was trying a program to keep up with the passing points. It just so happened that they were having issues with the timing loop which hampered the webcast announcers from giving the full rundowns like they had in previous nights.

It also looks like it caused problems for timing and scoring in the fact that the webcast announcers were not always getting correct lineups. Everything may have went smooth for the competitors (which would have been the number one priority) but it was not the case with the webcast.

Since I was basing all of my information off of the webcast, and what RacinBoys were posting on their forum, my data was off. This morning I went to the Chili Bowl website to get the official finishes which in some places were different than what I had last night.

I am going to assume that the heat lineups were correct. The problem with the timing loop should not have caused any problems in that area.

(On a sidenote: Everyone who thinks it's cute to show up at the track with a number you can't easily read, or a fleet of cars that are identical except for that itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny letter that is hidden behind the right rear tire, or a bar in the rear bumper, well you just add to the confusion when things don't go as planned. For the Chili Bowl scorers sake I hope none of the Loyet cars, Wilke Pak #11's, etc. are in the same race today.)

Below are some revised finishes and points.

*** There is a discrepancy in my point totals and the Chil Bowl's in Heat 5. This may be due to the fact that Kyle Larson replaced Jerry Higbie, Jr. If Larson went to the tail and his penalty for the driver change was not being able to earn any passing points he would only have 86 points and fall to 30th place (which is where he is in the Chili Bowl lineups).

The last 2 rows of Heat 5 originally were:
Jerry Higbie, Jr. - Cole Whitt
Cody Brewer - Cap Henry

It looks like the Chili Bowl based Brewers' points on him starting 5th (not 7th as he was on the original lineup) and Henrys' points on him starting 7th (not 8th).

This would move Larson to 30th in points, Brewer to 39th (with 72 points) and Henry to 43rd (with 70 points.

The first 3 cars in one of the races last night were numbered "5" plus a letter.

Here's a PDF file that shows the final point tally after the Qualifiers. I adjusted my
original Heat 5 points to match the lineups that the Chili Bowl had.

I'm not really sure what happened with Bud Kaeding & Greg Wilson.

I have Bud starting 10th in the Feature. I'm not sure where he started exactly - I
thought the announcers on the webcast said 15th or 16th. They were really
confused. The Chili Bowl had Wilson starting on the front row of B Main 2 (with
Billy Wease on the pole). My point totals show Wilson on the pole and Wease
outside row 1.
