I know a winged car team that got tired of the pay drop off in the WoO after the Big Three got paid. They still followed the Outlaws for a couple of years before throwing in the towel. But they ran the closest race to the outlaw show each night. They were able to run as a budget team and be able to run up front each night. but that was before the outlaws killed weekly sprint car racing which was pretty much non existent on most areas for years.
Same thing happened to late models and it's now happening to the A mods
