I love the Chili Bowl mostly because it’s a midget race in January that won’t get affected by weather, providing everyone can get there.
It's ok, Your now in a exclusive club of being Loved, or Love to hate on you.

I say the first two nights should be qualifiers for anyone who's never made a prelim or sat A main. Feature runners should then be divided into Wed-Fri programs and go back to taking four oo five from those nights to A Sat.

It never ceases to amaze me how every year this board lights up about the chili bowl. All of these years and we still go on about this and that. This event has grown into something that no one else has duplicated. It’s grown in size, length of time, and now televised start to finish. When something lasts as long as this event has, inevitably it must loose a touch of its luster. Yet every year there are all of those cars and all of those people. Now we banter on a choice of words describing a large majority of the field. Previously we went round and round about a guy ******** about the purse.(funny how he showed up anyway) Which then turns into how the event/week should be run. Sure there might be more money in the pot. The product was designed all of those years ago and has stood the test of time. Since it can’t happen this year, maybe next year the discussion can just be about how great this event has always been and will always be. Irrelevance is a personal feeling about a specific matter and not the description of it.

I am with you 100% on this one, FB55. I went one time and was in my seat for all the races each day as well as all the hot laps and by the time the A Main rolled off Saturday, I was exhausted and disgusted! That was when it was only five days! A three day show that has all 60 cars racing every day would get me back.

I'm sure there are 100 racers relieved that they are no longer considered irrelevant.😏

Doesn't make me feel any better FWIW.

Competing at the Chili Bowl is a significant time and money commitment no matter at what level you choose to do it at. If you don't understand why it's disrespectful to refer to most of the field as irrelevant you need to work on your social intelligence.

I assume you're posting from California since the type of Midget races you say you want are happening there over the next week and a half, but I'd bet $100 to the charity of your choice you're not there either.

Easy Tiger! Do a little profile research and you will find he isn’t from Cali. Not even close. Instead of the bravado about a remark you don’t like why don’t you donate your 100$ to a car that DNQd this week. Enjoy the races!

No, I get what Flagboy is saying 100% It's like the biggest LM event or say the BC39 running with a split field. It's not the top thirty cars on the track in the feature. If your lucky it's fifteen of em each night, but they're not competing against each other.

I'm not agreeing that all the other competitors outside maybe the top sixty are IRRELEVANT but all five nights are a diluted version of the top tier one night show. Is it still great? Yeah, It's racing, it's January and your football and hockey teams suck. SO YEAH! H*LL YEAH. and the talent level by the E mains on Saturday is unmatched save maybe Knoxville Nationals or Kings Royals.

So carry on, Everyone has their reason for being there and as pointed out. It's a commitment and big expense to do so. SO THE MORE THE MERRIER!

So I’m going to live a dream and rent a ride at the Chili Bowl. I have no shot to win anything unless I back into a heat race win. In my mind that makes ME irrelevant. I’m ok with that. As Chuck said split field is like grading on a curve. I want to watch the best race it out. Maybe we should have a “midlife crisis” night so guy’s that want to rent a ride can fulfill their dream, and I can put away Christmas decorations instead of turning on Flo
