I remember when they had the summer heat series, we went up and watched 2 shows. 40 midgets per show. Bad thing was there was no other classes. to much down time.
The reason I went to 16th Street is BECAUSE there were no support classes. Midgets ONLY rule in my book. I don't remember all that much down time. I lived about 120 miles from the track and went just about every saturday night and was usually home before 1 A.M.

I loved the place.

QUOTE=harry123;73375]Eric, your comments are out of bounce and unfair. comments like yours will keep the trend continuing. Less tracks want Midgets. Can you blame owners who have fans like you Eric?:headbang:headbang:headbang Play nice. DO knows the owner of Speedrome. DO is the one to fix this. Many of us "Fans" (don't feel like Eric) and Speedrome is perfect for the little guys. GO DO:dologob:

Hey Harry, I am not only a fan but also a car owner, I would also like to see the midgets back at the Speedrome, but would have to see some changes in the way it was run when they ran there last.

I have been involved in the Regional series for three years now and it does not matter if we run Mt Lawn, Anderson, Plymouth, or Illiana, as long as it is a weekday you are not going to get that many fans to fill the seats, Some of the best crowds we have had is at Anderson on Friday nights when the Kenyon Cars would run as a support class for their regular program, and most of the fans were not there to watch the midgets.

So my question would be , If I am the owner of a track that makes its money on the weekends with stock cars, Thunder cars ,Bombers, Demolition Derby, Figure 8 racing or whatever it be, then why would I give up a choice date for the midgets if I thought I would not get as many fans in the stands???

You might be able to get the Kenyon cars to run as a support class there like they do at Anderson, but Focus Midgets, Regional Midgets and TQs ??? what classes would you cut out to make room??

Like I said, I would be for it but don't believe it will ever happen.
