It did say vick had got in trouble over what I dont know so they may have moved him to the big house. But as for Lanier is their any chance he will ever see the outside of prison.I know it says life but cant you still get credit for time served and good behavior. These guys should all wright a book, one day they have the world by the @#% and then boom its all gone.It just makes you wonder what makes some of these guys tick. They were all pretty good drivers and had the chances of a life time.

However, it's possible that the drug money was used to gain the opportunity to begin with. perhaps w/o that money none of them would've ever sat in an indy car? i don't know. if the opportunity was there to begin with, and they chose to engage in this behavior anyway, that's crazy! they indeed blew it. on the other hand, if they did this stuff in order to get their foot in the door of big time racing? well, it's still wrong but it mitigates it a little.......... i guess? maybe not. I know before i finally got my first sprint car ride, i would've done just about anything for the chance. thankfully, it came before i did anything stupid like run drugs!

Of the people who got cought up in all of this how many have really changed their lives.I dont know any of them. But I do know that good people do get into some real bad spots at times. It is interesting how that many people got pulled into the same trap.Just think how many that did not get cought that ran in the same group. Were they thugs or just made some bad choices.

I too was and still am a John Paul Jr. fan. I am glad to hear that he is doing well and still involved in racing. This thread has been very interesting to say the least. The one post following the death of some fans was very touching. Sounds to me that I was right about this man years ago and that unfortunately he made a mistake. Thanks for all the posts about John Paul Jr. :applaud:

The culprit was John's dad - this was well recognized by everyone - he got a break - deserved the break - and always struck me as a fine person

It's funny this thread came up, I've been following the Whittington's story for years. It's still ongoing to this day. Better than any Hollywood movie. The 3rd brother to qualify for Indy, Dale, actually died from a drug overdose a few years ago, he was active in the "family" business. A bit too active apparently. Allegedly, Don is currently involved with the CIA, supplying drug planes to the government. This was allegedly discovered when one crashed in Mexico, full of drugs, the pilots fled the scene, and the plane was traced to Don. It's a very long and interesting story. Lots of conspiracy! Great reading if you're into that stuff. Anyway, below is an example. It's a wordy article but I promise, you will be shaking your head and wanting to read more! Someone in Hollywood has GOT to get ahold of this story!

Dave, you have been following this stuff for years, where did Randy Lanier come from? Did he have a regular business before the pot running years?Or did he just flash on the scene.

Yup, that pretty much covers his story.
Rodney, since the Gold Crown is running road courses, maybe you should hire JP jr!
