Chad Boespflug started on the front row and immediately opened a nice sized lead, tearing a path around the top of the race track. Shane Cottle was in control of the runnerup spot and Brady Short settled into third. The early mover was Brent Beauchamp who had started 10th and quickly worked his way up into the top 5. Multiple yellows gave Cottle shots at the leader and he made several attempts to grab the lead from Chad, but each time Chad would eventually skate away and open a decent sized lead, again. The battles of the race were setting up to be Cottle and Short for the second place spot and Beauchamp and the surging Josh Hodges duking it out to see who would get the final podium position. Late in the race, with less than 10 laps left, Brady would finally pry second away from Cottle and he then set sail for the leader. He was catching him fast, but the leader's margin was too much, by that point and he made it close, but not close enough that you ever thought Chad's victory was in jeopardy. Good win for the Amati Racing Team and also a nice run for Hodges, taking the third position before the checkered flag was waved. Good job by Spiker and his crew. 5 classes and the Sprint feature was still over by 10 o'clock. And it wasn't the first one ran, either. It was ran right after the Devin Gilpin modified beatdown had concluded.

That's 120 some cars in 5 different classes. The checkered flew on the Sprint feature before 10 pm. After they had already ran the modified feature. Pretty impressive, if you ask me. There were still some people whining when they were doing interviews after the Modified feature. And it wasn't even dark yet.
