Race drivers are the same as the rest of us. Occasionally, they make a bad decision. I'm sure if Chris could take this one back, he would. Because you know the end result wasn't what he was trying to pull off, in this case. And you don't have the luxury of getting a do over. You have to feel bad for Logan, though. That one cost him a heat race win at a real tough track.

Stupid move when the top two redraw for feature if I am not mistaken. He must have wanted to draw 4 spots quicker really bad.

Actually only the heat winners redrew. Chris would have started 8th had he finished 2nd.

Everyone is always quick to draw swords! Guys like Windom race to win, thats why there are people in the stands. There is some truth to the fact that if the lead car was on the cushion then there would have been no contact, you see these sliders all the time, the guy on the inside (slider) only has his hearing and judgement at a certain angle, sometimes they have to use the cushion as a gauge? Did he mean for there to be contact? I seriously doubt that, will it happen again, most likely, when a driver has repeat problems then the swords are justified. I remember Hewitt screwing up big time one night at Eldora and trashing Lealand McSpaden, and just 2 years ago DD punted Cole Whitt at Kokomo, and I could go on and on. When these drivers strap in a racecar each night they know that someone could have a moment, if it was easy the stands would be empty and the pit area full! If Windom becomes a frequent problem then bombs away, but at this point in his career he has been a solid racers, so at this point IMO he deserves a little of the respect he has earned!

I think Kokomo also bit him a few years ago.

im not a fan of windom but heres what i saw.....he tried something that probably wasnt going to work and then, when he figured it out, it was too late. i dont see it as being intentional or smart but he did try to turn away (too late) to try to avoid contact.
IMO....if you wanna pizz off the fans and officials.....stuff the leader on the last lap on the front straight in front of everyone

I was there and saw this as well. Have watched Windom since he started racing at Kokomo years ago and always enjoy watching him. However, he clearly made a poor decision on this one. Understand it is racing but what makes it so tough is to see a young racer having made such great progress have the Heat win taken away and a start in the feature. Too bad but he will certainly get many more opportunities.

I could care less, but let's not forget that Logan made a bone head pass just a few weeks ago in the same corner on josh spencer and stuffed him nose 1st in the fence . The way I see it. Windom gave him a choice lift and finish 2nd or crash. And what goes around comes around.
