Wow...What a feature......Beautiful weather.........Never ceases to amaze me each week at TSS......Jones over a ill-moved lapped traffic Fitz with a blanket thrown over them at the line.......Congrats!!!!.........Excellent for the Evansville based team......fitz should not hang his head as he was on a mission, just to come up 2 feet short.....I will take this quality of cars over quantity any and all days......Wes McIntyre impressed the hell out of me tonight......Excellent job............JS in the 53 was fast but not fast enough.......Short on the move w/Critter not far behind.............A bunch of real fast cars there tonight.....Track was 4 wide and as smooth as silk all night long........Thank goodness for just two classes........Riggs with the hard luck award w/ a nasty flip due to axel failure.....Thanks to Helfrich crew for their tractor manacures........If you nixed this event due to threating weather.......Sorry for you...........A+++++++ as always..............
Another Haubstadt instant classic. It was great to see this field stacked with the best. 4 of the top 6 in usac national points were in action (Levi,Jon, Ballou, and Hunter%). Other heavy hitters included Short, Riggs, Fitzpatrick, Stockon, and many more. Wes Mac looked really good leading the first half of the race. It was good to see Hud back in action. Riggs was fun to watch coming from deep(due to the flip in the heat). I'd say the lead switched a couple times in just the last turn. Fitzy threw a slider to take the lead going into 3 and Levi held the high line to take back the win out of 4. It just doesn't get any better than that. As good as the TSS ISW race was this one was 10x better. Only down side was the crowd seemed a little slim for such a great event. Anyways, these are the type of races you get when you prep a track like tommy does.
I don't think anyone was sitting in their seat for that finish. Wow! Im still waiting for Jerry Shaw to give everyone the story on this one. Did anyone notice the charge Riggs had coming from the tale? Was he ever hooked up. Look for him to win another at TSS before the year is up. Several really fast guys tonight, but Riggs was as fast as anyone on the track. He had passed half the field when the first yellow came out and why on the restart he was put so far back is beyond me. Maybe he cut some tires and I didnt see it. Gr8 nite of racing and the fair down the road may be the reason for not a larger crowd.

I'm working on one, but I've got to do something that does that one justice. That was such a great race, I've literally got a hangover from it, this morning.

I know what ya mean.. The last 7-8 laps when you could see Fitz reeling Jones in was spectacular. I was jumping around so much i starting sweating heavily.. Awesome just awesome
When we were sitting in a parking lot along U.S. Rt. 41 at 4:30 waiting out the monsoon, I wouldn't have given this race a snowball's chance in you know where of happening. But Mother Nature finally played nice for once. Boy, did we all luck out, as we got to see an instant classic.
But perhaps the real winners in this deal were the folks helped by the $1100 raised for Easter Seals. Great job everyone.

The demo derby may have been down US 41 at the Fair, but the modified races last night could've been confused for the demo. There were a couple of drivers that seemed to hit every car on the track except for the Toyota Sequoia pace vehicle. As good as the sprint races are down there, the mod races could be almost as good, but not until they crack down on the rough driving and drivers who refuse to immediately get single-file for the reline when the yellow comes out. They might need to think about using some more of this.
Not meaning to be a buzzkill in light of all the talk about how epic the sprint feature was, but they had a nice field of cars in the mod division last evening. Just a shame they couldn't put on a better show, it's not like they didn't have a decent track to run on.
