Winged Id have no desire. Id go with modern safety rules and 1971 USAC everything else. Yes Steel block 305 10 inch tires. Inline axles etc.

There is a two fold purpose in using the 602 crate in the new Sportsman Sprint car. One is the ease of operation for the competitors and the simplicity of policing a strong policy of a double sealing system in lieu of engine teardowns at a dirt track.
Mercer, PA. 305 competitors just voted to allow the 602 cars to run with their 305 division.
This is not designed to be a quick fix but a 3-5 year building program.

I did get a chance to watch the crates run at Ohsweken Can. last Friday. While they are no 360 deal, it was decent racing... even with the wings. I wont say that I was 'impressed' with them, but I surely was not disappointed with their performance either. My thoughts are that they would be a great 'starter' class if, they ran wingless, and with a hard/ smaller RR tire. But then again, what do I know.

I agree that a smaller right rear will be needed to optimize the engine program as they are low end torque strong.
