Has somebody been messing with Mother Nature?!??!

Due to extremely wet and cool spring and the new clay, I've only been on the track 3 hours in the past 6 weeks. So, we are postponing practice until Sunday April 6 at 5:30 for cars and sprints, and Saturday April 12 at 1:00pm for Karts and Quads. First race, weather permitting, should be April 13, with hot laps at 6:30 and racing starting at 7:00pm. We might run a sprint program on April 18th? I need some driver input!

Chad,
Yes I'm talking about Lincoln IL. I talked to Don Hammer the other night and we came up with that idea of running the next night after Jacksonville the 3rd week of July. I know what you're thinking, but hey, it's a start. I'll keep working on him for more shows.

Thanks Steve, hey I am all for it but surprised because of the way he seems to feel about open wheel stuff. Count me in if it happens. All of us appreciate all the work you do with Bell to help support non wing sprints around here. See you in a couple of weeks at J-ville???????

:headbangRain Rain go away come back in about 5 months or during the middle of the weeks only.

Hi Chad. I think Don took such a bath on the MARA events he promoted at Farmer City that he has since been reluctant to venture much in open wheel since.
I doubt that his experience at the Chili Bowl this year helped him have happy thoughts about open wheel cars much either.
But this is at least getting a foot back in the door at Lincoln.

This will be great Steve.
The other Steve was right. I contacted Don about trying to set up an MSCS race at Farmer City two years ago. He had the same thoughts. He said he really just lost his butt on the MARA show. It wasn't because of the racing it was because they didn't have starters and a lot of reds compared to the stock cars. Don runs a midget so I know he has a love for it. It will be great to see Sprint Cars back at Lincoln. There is a lot of sprint car and midget racing going on in IL this year which is great for us!:checkered:

Keep up the good work Steve!

You guys are right about Don losing on a midget show that is why it surprised me that he may be willing to run a sprint show. I hope he does, I will be the first one to support him. I understand his history that is why I said I would be surprised, no attack on Don whatsoever, what he has done to the track and improvements he has made to the facility are great. I would just love to get sprintcars back here in Lincoln. Heres hoping..........
