hmmmm .... It may explain something .... I always thought he was Cowboy Bob with a fake mustache added to make us think Channel 4 had an on-air staff of more than seven people.
Now I'm convinced he's the REAL Janie.

I say the facial hair either fell out, or it is another fruitless endeavour to attempt to be as good-looking as the flagman, LOL.

I think Gary should grow his mustache back, but aside from that, I have worked with Gary a few times over the years and I found him to be very easy to work with and a real professional on the set. He is willing to provide ideas on how we could do things differently on screen and it was always a nice experience. I admit it has been several years since I last worked with him and this was probably back in my old Comcast Cable days where I was in charge of the 5 TV producers who spent a lot of their time shooting commercials for the local cable TV spots. In fact, I think Gary was able to work out a deal on a hot tub for one of our projects.
The bottom line is this, Gary's brand is his signiture voice and his knowledge of the sport. He even sat behind the wheel for a few seasons, so he appreciates what drivers go through. I know that his heart was broken when we lost Larry Rice and they did in deed worked very well together. So, Gary, keep your voice, grow the mustache and shave that head, if the lighting guy has the skills, he can give you everything you need to look awesome on screen.
Take care Gary and I hope to see you on a broadcast very soon!

Very nice comments, George. We enjoy working with him very much indeed. He keeps us on our toes, yet we have lots of fun teasing him every chance we get, for sure. He has certainly raised the bar for our sport of TQ racing to say the least. He is a true professional, and I consider it an honor to work with someone like him, with or without facial hair.

Gary has certainly made TQ racing much more fun. He is truly entertaining in addition to being a walking racing encyclopedia. He also has been a good sport about this poll. And those of you lucky enough to see him emceeing the Jack Hewitt Roast Thursday night, remind him that the home only extended his curfew by two hours.
