if this were live tv i could see some people not making an effort. i think these live feeds from Dean actually help promote this type of racing. for us die-hard open wheel fans yes this is even better. most all of us would be there if we could. it takes a lot of vacation time or a great job to be able to make all these shows. maybe some sort of a pay-per-race with the track getting a portion of it may be an answer.

I don't sit in the grandstands but I run in to those who b#tch and moan all night about anything. Go watch soccer!

I am glad you are able to go to the tracks you want. Some people do not have the money or may have physical limitations that they cant just pack up and go anytime they want. The tracks are not expected to stream and most dont watch the streaming just so they can see it for free. I may be wrong but Millsvideo does the streaming not the track. I just think its very nice of those tracks who stream live video for the people who can not make it. I used to go to some race track every weekend, also have been to Knoxville Iowa for the Knoxville Nationals. However due lifes changes i can now only go 4 times a summer if im lucky. Thank God that you are still able to pack up and go when you want.

As one can see, there are different viewpoints to any situation ...

... but come on guys ... can't you just get back to focusing on SuperDuke
... just kidding Duke . I was around to see you race ... and have some VERY good runs

Bottom line ... sprint car racing is having some pains ... whether we want to admit it or not ... furthermore ... many threads on this MB do not help the sports cause one bit. JMObservation ...

A safe night for everyone racing everywhere ...

Folks,

Don't blame Dave Rudisell for sticking with track policy with regard to not streaming. And, I don't think it's Duke per se (although he is a habitual problem child here) that he has a problem with. I'd say that he has a problem with people at home who act like they are owed something when they are sitting at home. And there are a couple of examples of that in this VERY thread. And it's ridiculous. Nobody owes you anything here. Nobody is obligated to make sure those who can't go to a race can see it for free, and I just see so many ungrateful people who benefit from this service we provide when all parties mutually agree upon it. But all parties have to agree, and there are different philosophies at work here. So, when you get live video, be grateful for it, don't complain about it, and when you don't, accept it and understand that sometimes you just don't get your way in this world.

Reminds me of that Louis CK bit in which he talks about a guy getting pissed about not having working Internet on an airplane, just minutes after finding out it existed in the first place. It's ridiculous.

BTW...After all this is said and done, uh, well...stay tuned from Lawrenceburg for updates about live video from tonight. :2:

It's not the fact that there is no streaming for this race. It's the fact that somebody makes a choice that affects many fans, and made that choice based on something that Dennis Cook said.

what a bummer; so anyone outside the area is screwed by the nitwit Duke. Usually I would be there, but my business is selling so gotta wait 'til Knoxville and Osky for my traditional sprint car fix.
I was REALLY looking forward to watchin' from my seat in Cali. Thanks for the job you do Dean, it's always appreciated.

Just because a track wont let the races be broadcast live over the internet is no reason not to go to a track. if you don't go to the tracks that wont allow them to broadcast you might make 2 of the sprint week races only and miss out probably the best ones. Just be happy you still have tracks to go to, to watch a sprint week.

I can only make maybe 4 races a year if im lucky. I have to pick and choose. I choose to support those tracks that allow the streaming because i still have a chance to see racing when i can not make it.
Call me names if you want, all i ask is you thank God your able to go when and where you want.

I can only speak for myself, but would like to thank Dean and Company for the occasions I can watch the action online. I fully realize this can't happen at every race and every race track. Due to lifestyle changes I can't make as many races as I used to or want to attend. If I can only access the updates I consider myself lucky. At least I have this option - think about 10-12 years ago - it probably wasn't as easy for many of us back then. But I do sincerely appreciate the opportunities for live feeds and if that's not a possibility, hey let's just go to the next best option.

So best of luck and safe racing to all the competitors, and go Dave Darland!
