just a few comments about the thought of some of you.first I thought this column was indiana open wheel not fender cars ! as for the Dave Peeden Memorial how could that be if steves dad was pulling Hobbs out of car or was that a ghost.I have run sprint cars for years just because I am not brave enough to go into the stock car pits.As for keith Ford I wish he would move the stock cars out of the Sprint car pits purely for my safety. Keith is a great track operator and a friend of mine thank you for reading this Jack P Reed ps medical supplies bags of ice and gator aid are available at paragon country market see you saturday

Yes it's TRUE! Keith Ford said I was running of his car counts in the street stocks.

Guess he doesn't think it has anything to do with economy. It' all c00per's fault!

Go ahead and race that car with superlates when they run and start trying to get the ump sportsman more competetive. It's just BS a guy build a car to KF's rules then he barrs the car after a few wins! Says its a business and some of the other street stocks are threating not coming back as long as it is there. Not sure who that may be cause I talked to several and all they said is when is there turn to drive it?

marty i admit i am one of those that hate it when you bring the late model...its nothing against you i hate it when ANYONE brings a late model to run in the "so called street stock" class. But i also know what the rules are before we load up and head to paragon... With that being said tho it is BS that if your car is legal to the rules they wont let you run it!! The car count isnt leaving b/c cOOper has won every race its because of the crazy rules!! Guys dont want to compete against cars that "SHOULD" win every week, and now that one of them is winning everyweek car count is dropping and fans dont wanna show up to watch the same car win. Its not becasue cOOper is winning, someone else will show up with a good running latemodel and win again... the reason 75% of the other indiana super stock drivers dont show up is because they dont feel like they can be competative and its not fair to run against the paragon cars so they simply run elsewhere where they are on a level laying field. Change over to Indiana Super Stock rules and that will allow cars from the other 4-5 tracks to run at Paragon and then the car counts will go up. Yeah you might run off the 5-10 bar cars that currently run Paragon but your going to gain alot more. (i doubt any of them are going to start running super late models- they will probably sell their car and buy a bomber or a superstock and still run paragon) Running cOOper off isnt a fix to the situation, just a Bandaid to keep a couple cars from leaving.
In Paragons situation i think the car count has little to do with the economy- everytime i've been to brownstown in the last 3 years we've always had atleast 35 super stocks... There are still a bunch of superstocks out there it just doesnt make sence for them to build a 20k plus super stock and go to paragon to get outran by a late model on a weekly basis.... Well me for instance this past weekend i decided to by a new set of tires and some new rear springs so it would make me more competative (spent a good $700-$800 on this stuff) and while it did make me more compeative, we get easily spanked by a late model and it turns out unless he breaks that we never had much of a shot to win in the first place... sure does make a guy not wanna come back, you just feel cheated... im surely not the only one that feels this way??
like i said its nothing against marty- with the way the rules are its just the way it is.....

"It only a given a late model is going to win, when the leader opens up the bottom on a restart like an idiot"
I think that it sucks that Marty is not aloud to come back. He follows the rules that are written for the track. Its not his fault that he is the only "bar car" to figure it out and run up front. "Most" of the rest of them look like idiots trying what they are trying. JMO
Also I heard tonight that both Hobbs and Peeden will be suspended for two weeks. They can come, their car can come, but they cant race it.
So oh well could be interesting on Saturday!

What butlergrafix said is right on the money. But I also think that if they want the car counts to go up then they have be ump sanctioned. I know several guys who have left because Putnamville has their track smooth again and they can go up there and run for ump points. I also hated seeing Marty out there running off with every feature. Nothing against Marty, he's a heck of a talented driver. But I remember the days when there were 15 cars capable of winning on any given week. I think it's wrong to tell Marty he can't bring his car back half way through the season. God knows how much money he invested in that car only to get kicked out 3 weeks into the season. If they wanted a quick fix all they needed was a weight rule and a tire rule. Make the late models weight 200 lbs more than the stock clip guys and make all the cars run emods. That would even it out a little.
The payouts need to come up a little too. The cost of racing has went up a ton in the last 10 years. Even the admission has doubled. Yet they payout has stayed the same. Also, I think a season points fund would give people more motivation to run every race.
