my name is bob black, i am President of Hoosier Auto Racing Fans (HARF), and i want to post this to inform others how this works, We give out 2 types of awards, the first group is track champions and sanctioning body champions (no decisions to be made there, pretty cut and dry). our 2nd group of awards are special "chosen" awards, these awards are chosen by the HARF officers thru a nominating meeting we had about a month ago, we then give ourselves time to investigate our choices to see if we need to add to or eliminate from our nominees and then have a final vote (which we did Saturday night) to name our "chosen" award winners to the best of our ability. I consider our group of officers some of the best informed and loyal fans anywhere. I am proud to say that if you look back at our history, we've had a pretty good run of choosing winners in all our catagories. I will not apologize to anyone for our choices, but i will tell those with such strong opinions that HARF has their ******** of Officers every March and instead of just sitting back and complaining, anyone can come out and run for an office (even President) and then their opinion will be counted for next years awards. you would be surprised to find out it's not as easy as it seems. and a word from myself to Dave Rudisell, you know you have gone above and beyond for HARF this year and every year (2 HARF nights this year and a Special Thanks for being our Saturday night track for our HARF Hundreds) and you know we appreciate your generosity and kindness so much. so Thanks to all our loyal HARF members, i appreciate being your President, and we will be busting our butts again in 2010 to offer you dozens of discount nights at your local race tracks & special events, like our 58th Annual Awards Banquet on Sunday January 31st (the day after the 10th Annual Indy Circle Track Expo, where we will have a booth). it should be a spectacular racing weekend in Indy, so please take the opportunity to stop by and say hi (or give me hell). bob

HARF is awesome. If you look at the history of that organization, and a list of the current and past members, WOW. I always have appreciated the special deals that the tracks gave to their members, and really felt like I belonged to something big. I was never lucky enough to be able to attend their awards banquets, but I am sure they are awesome, just seeing all the major names there in one place like that. My job sucked this past year, and couldn't afford to join, but keep hopin' I can again next year. The discounts they get for their members are awesome !!! I am pretty busy most Saturday nights, but still hope I can join just to support their efforts.

Mr. Black, I meant no disrespect to HARF or the HARF Board members. I'm sure their decision's are not easy one's. There is no apology needed, Especially to ME. I'm just a non-wing fan from Pennsylvania who makes the 7-8-or 9 hour trip to Indiana about 6 or 7 times a year. Obviously I'm not as informed as most Indianerans, so maybe someone could list the winners accomplishments for 2009. The list must be endless...

P.S...Just for the record, I will NOT, be running for a HARF Board position....:2:

Dave Rudisell didn't win POY? Members of Harf had their reasons and I won't go into that but Dave did more IMHO than anybody to improve or at least try to improve the sport. Almost always had a smooth racy track. I never got dusty once. Put up SIX Ten grand to win races and a few five grand to win in the sprint division alone and a couple big big LM's. The Mods at his track are the envy of most tracks A class.

Changed his track himself with fishinman, Johnson and a couple others to make it racier and reduce the turn two problems, Put drainage near the track exit. Even announced one night himself. Helped groups and campers outside the track often. Went out and got companies and groups, Gave em discounts and parties.........

And last but not least, Ran shows when others wouldn't with inclement weather around. Way too many tracks IMHO calling shows and rain never or barely happens. I do understand the desire not to loose money though.

All that being said, I gotta tip my hat to all promoters for doing what they do.

Congrats to the HARF award winners!
Chuck

You must not have been watching Bryan this year. He's been a Monster in everything he's driven. Won Midget week. Top three in Sprint week. Multiple wins in each division at multiple tracks

Bryan is well deserving of this honor. Congrats Bryan!

Closing, I have nothing against HARF and their decision. I posted before reading MR. Blacks statement and agree, The list and years of this group are outstanding and impecable.

Agree totally! I mean no disrespect to HARF but I really think they dropped the ball where Dave is concerned! I agree with the rest of there picks and appreciate the kind words said about Dave by Mr. Black but I think thet should look at this again and at least have co POY. Knowing Dave he probably wont even think about it but give credit where it is due.
