[QUOTE=TQ29m;120522it was cold in the pits, some cool weather for mid July. Also, to the fans, that came to the pits after the races were over, to look at the cars, and for all the favorable comments you heaped on us, it was reward enough for the time you took, to let us know we were welcome, and you would like to see us back. For what looked like it could turn into an unfavorable event, I think after the drivers had a bit of time to adapt, it turned out pretty decent, maybe a couple of gallons less water would have been nice, but it was a learning experience all around. Thanks again, all around! Bob McClure & Kyle Lux #29m Just wonder how long it will take, to wipe that smile off Tim Lynch's face?[/QUOTE]

I bet Tim is still smiling today. LOL That night was way too cold. We had to turn the heat on in the motorhome.

The officials heard lots of compliments on the drivers. We are so proud of all of you.

Franklin is a great facility. I learned a lot of the track history through Gary Sat. night. It is a hidden gem of a track. I bet the karts were fun to watch on it. Because the track is small, maybe we can have a race there with more laps.

LOL You didn't even say, "Hi" to me at Franklin. When IOWers go to races, they should wear an IOW tshirt with their user name on the back.

I know nothing of this "edit" that you speak of. I simply quoted you.

STP, if you can get him to LISTEN, long enough, tell Gary Lee, Kevin Rice wasn't the only go-karter there in 1974, I and a few other were there, but sorry to say, it rained us out, but we ran anyway! Bob

I am really happy everything worked out well in Franklin. From the video it looked like the racing was good as was the crowd. I hope things there will continue to grow.

I was wondering if you had raced there when they were talking about karts. God definitely gave Gary Lee the gift of gab. If you aren't able to get a chance to talk to him at a race, just email him. I'm sure he can add more data to his unlimited wealth of racing knowledge. I'll PM you his email if you don't have it.

The video that was shot at Johnson County Fairgrounds is now posted on YouTube- It looks to be just a highlight reel, but the in car camera looks great!
