I ran there every sat night in mid eighties and it was pretty ruff. We have ran there a little and everyone was nice to us and track was choppy with a couple of holes but it was same for everybody. Most all the tracks are old and flat wore out but if someone is winning on them then the rest of us should't complain to much.

You dont go to putnumville to run on a smooth, slick, dusty, one lane conga line around the tires, there is plenty of places like that around here. You go there knowing not to forget your spurs and elbow pads...

I have ran sprints and stock cars both, a place thats elbows up chop for a sprint car that you think ahh thats a little rough not to bad, is a freaking nightmare in a modified, you bent and break all kinds of stuff because the car is twice as heavy with twice the moving pieces.

I guess I may be showing my age, but I remember when Farrar ran the place.
Some of you newbies might find this hard to believe, but in their reign, the track was always in great shape. The rest rooms were clean and the the grounds were well maintained. The show was ran at a quick pace and the drivers and the fans were treated with respect.
Granted Hopton was a step down, DA fell off the cliff.
