Avilla, Warsaw, Bunker Hill, Santa Fe, Shadyhill (still there, just not for sprints), old Lawrenceburg, old Kokomo......

Going to keep thinking on this one.

St Charles, MO "The Charley Bowl" Occasional sprint shows were pretty dang exciting.

Godfrey Speedway, IL aka 67 Raceway Park Ran sprints every Friday night when Wib Spaulding owned it.

West Capital, San Jose (the fairgrounds, never made it to the Tully Road pavement), Ascot, Hialeah, Big H (now paved and called Houston Motorsports Park). I will have to think about others.

I have a couple that were closed and then eventually re-opened. Stockton 99, 105 and Battleground Speedways.

I am kind of all over the map with this one.

Be sure to visit www.manvelmotorsports.com. 2024 Robert Ballou Calendars are available.

Someone is going to have to help me out here.

Wasn't there a track that was carved out of a set of hills somewhere near Raccoon Lake in West/Central Indiana?
If i remember right, it was a high banked freak of nature in the middle of nowhere. It ran a few sprint car shows but not many. I recall seeing a flyer at one the gas stations on the way out west on US 36. They said the pits were up on top and the hill was too steep for to get cars up and down to the track. I went by it one time during the middle of the week to look at it and was intrigued by it but never seen anymore ads or flyers.
Maybe in the early 90's or so?? Anyone ??

Warsaw.... I barely even remember that place.

is Bunker Hill closed now? When did that happen? That's where I remember seeing a shooting star for the time.

Which track had the clown that threw out hard bubble gum?

I just recalled a conversation I had with Dick Briscoe the other day. As a small child, long long ago, I went to the old Mitchell Speedway. The track is gone but the Briscoe family business is there. Ironic, but kinda cool.

Add Manzanita too.

I went to that Cataract track once. It was like watching racing down in a valley. It seems like the pits were way way above the track. I think I remember the cars coming down the hill on to the track. They had a hard time getting back to the pits from the track because the hills seemed so steep. The night I went they only had a handfull of cars but I think the sprint feature paid like $1,000. I gave up Bloomington one time to go there on a Friday night. I think I went there in '97 or '98 maybe.
