Wish the whole state was on Central time ( IMO, but I’m sure there’s plenty that wish the opposite). Feel for those losing a hour heading home, but it sucks for us to leave extra hour early to get to Terre Haute, LPS, or Bloomington. Not that big of deal for me now that I’m retired, but those I go to the races aren’t, so it’s difficult on Friday’s or the occasional Wednesday Terre Haute show and ISW.
When you come to TSS you know what your in for. Great racing because of track prep. Not sure why they ran the 2 Mini Sprint B’s followed by their feature. The Helfrich’s do everything for a reason, so I trust their judgment over keyboard reporters.
I’m in total agreement with you about the time issue.
Only In racing are paying customers called “keyboard reporters/warriors” etc… Ultimately midnight is too late to complete a show where weather wasn’t a concern.
As long as the criticism isn’t personal or excessive, take it as constructive and improve.
Apparently being there must have a made great. It was good but best race of the year, I’ll think not. Good on Jaden for his win, I actually thought at the beginning of the year it would’ve come sooner. I just wonder if it would’ve been different if he hadn’t knocked Carson around at the beginning of the heat. Lastly I have to say, I love the place, but you can’t say the program didn’t go too long because it absolutely did. When probably half the customers come from eastern time zone, it should be taken into consideration
I’ve been going to Tri-State/ Haubstadt off and on since 1964, pretty consistently for the last 15 years. I’ve been to the last 12 Haubstadt Hustler’s. AT THIS EVENT, the sprint car feature has always been the last event of the night UNLESS weather was a potential issue.
Did the track need that last rework? Maybe, maybe not, but I can’t see how two wide racing lap after lap throughout the field is a bad thing. In fairness, the event plan published on FB by MSCS had an “intermission” after the 2nd MMSA B in the plan.
Yes, the show ran to 11:12 CDT. We left after Jadon got out of the car in Victory Lane. We got home @ 1:45 CDT. Honestly, after watching the racing, I didn’t care. It was a great night, spent with good friends where we got to see great racing. God willing, we’ll do it all again next year!

Just making sure all of those whining about midnight in the east know that it’s only 11:00 in the central time zone, and by the way Haubstadt is in that time zone. Why in the world would the track need to cater to the east???? So ultimately 11:00 is just fine.
We live in “the East” (Bloomington) and we choose to go to a track that is in the central time zone. That track doesn’t owe us a “get over early” night. Sheesh!! We make the choice which includes the choice to drive home after, regardless What time it gets over. And if it’s going long and we’re ready to leave, guess what, we will leave!!

55 I have to disagree with you. Do any of the events at Terre Haute start later because they wish to help out the fans coming from the Central time zone??? Circle City advertised engine heat at 6:30 on Friday. TSS advertised engine heat at 5:45 Central. Isn’t that 6:45 east?? Kinda the same don’t you think?
I think it’s hilarious that so many people on this board constantly criticize a guy who works his tail off to give the teams a great surface, but yet never seem to do the same for most of the other tracks inability to do anything for a great surface.
