Track was pretty bad, yeah they got a decent amount of rain but that's the first time it's rained all month here, enjoyed watching Robert pass more cars than anyone, glad I bought two more shirts from him

Ron,

I'm not a regular at Lawrenceburg, but I'd say they had a nice crowd considering the forecast kept some fans home. The front stretch was at least 3/4's full and turns 1 & 2 had fans sitting in the bleachers. Backstretch was lined with the usual trucks and vehicles. I don't think the track would have been disappointed with their Sunday night attendance.

As far as the track conditions, it was definitely rough for hot laps and qualifying. Many cars were bicycling in the corners. Almost looked like some mods were airborne in turns 1 and 2. Sprint car heats were elbows up for sure. Shocks got some real testing early on. It was interesting that they had to add water to knock the dust down mostly on the back stretch. By feature time the track finally smoothed out.

Ballou can whine all he wants. On purpose or not he got cut off in the interview and for a former fan, (I still think he's a hell of a racer) But everytime he doesn't win, it's the track fault. Well promotors should just shut the doors because

BALLOU ON ELDORA TO SMOKE FOUR CROWN, "NO WONDER TRACKS ARE SHUTTING THE DOORS WITH GLASS SMOOTH SLOW TRACKS" Make a track with a monster cushion and some charichtor and you'll pack the place"

End of quote.

What did ya have tonight Ballou?
Here we go again. Someone doesn’t like the Burg and you have to be the big defender. Did you ever think that Ballou and all of the others teams bust their ass to be prepared to race and all they hope for is equal effort by the tracks. You say the track has been great all year. Why is it that the biggest show this year and others at this track come up small??? If it’s not a tire eater when USAC comes it’s a mine field. This track has so much potential yet it’s not often realized. Call out Ballou all you want. It’s pretty simple to me, bust your ass like the teams do and your precious ego won’t get hurt.

My ego isn't hurt and what is coming up small?

I must be from a different time, A time when tracks were almost always rough and drivers drove through the holes or banged a cushion, if they wanted to be fast (Like windom was doing Sunday and last years opener)

Im sure teams don't like replacing bars etc that get bent up, Might as well cancel if you can't prep it according to schedule due to persistant rain and unfavorable forecast..

Me, I was just happy to be at a racetrack after being told my blood clot wasn't life threatening. On to Terre haute, Another track I love because IT'S NEVER PERFECT and the fast guys find a way.

Yes on to Terre Haute. The never perfect track(no need for caps) one that Ballou is fast at. I see ur skipping Kokomo tonite don’t need a laundry list of excuses why. If it’s rough because of all the rain you will have missed the old school kinda track you love but if it’s the Kokomo most have come to love then you will have missed one of the weeks best events. Oh well to each there own. One thing for certain, there will be no lack of effort in the track prep. Enjoy the races.

Lack of effort eh? The track was a swamp at 6am. A triple crown driver writes "Thanks for the effort Dave, We've all raced on tracks much worse where weather wasn't a factor, Thanks for the dedication and hard work" There is a lot more praise in his posting.

Sitting behind a keyboard again saying you or anybody cold do better is really manly, I didn't see you at the council meeting putting in a bid, Or anybody else.

I've been to the Kokomo Grand Prix. It's 4hrs away and yet I make it a couple times a year and the weather wasn't perfect and neither was the track, was better after a rework and a good show, I didn't say nothing bad about Reece O'Conner and would be there f I could. Im limited in the around of races I can make, Yet I've made about 25 already and at about 7 different tracks. While 7 nights at 7 tracks isn't in the budget (Especially with two ER visits in a week) THAT and LPS are doable and two of my favorite tracks to boot..

Still haven't explained coming up small?

Track wasn't perfect. ( call it the miracle of dirt). The racing was good, and I thought the track crew did a good job all night of making it better. Thought it was a good race.
