First full year of attending races without drinking alcohol, I would had thought I would remember it better but can’t say how many races I attended. I do remember new tracks being Montpelier, Jacksonville, Knoxville and muskingum. Seen a couple races that made me think “you can’t make this **** up any better” one being the spring race at florence the other at Kokomo speedway. Usac sprint competition between Windom and Grant all year.

You have to write it down! I don't drink either, but our memories fail us as we age

50+ races in 5 states. 50,000+ words in Hoseheads and Flat Out, several thousand miles, dozens of cheeseburgers and a few pork chop sandwiches. One new track, Friendship Speedway near Elkin, NC, a few sprinters plus a few dozen of our fendered brethren. Resorted to motels for Midget Week and Smackdown.

Grandson cleaned mud from at least a dozen cars and rode with Doug Vandeventer in the Bloomington pace truck most of the year.

Most of the rainouts in Indiana didn't affect me as they occurred while I was in North Carolina--especially at Terre Haute.

I made my normal rounds at Jacksonville, Lincoln, Macon, Granite City, Terre Haute. One new Track being the all purpose arena at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Also ventured out to the Chili Bowl, the Indy 500, champ cars at IRP, and a SOD and MTS show at Hartford, MI. A couple of shows that stand out were the USAC midgets at Lincoln, and the Powri show to end the year at Jacksonville. It’s nice to see my beloved champ cars continue to gain momentum. I wish everyone a safe and happy new year.

For those about to rock, we salute you.

We made 16 races at 6 different race tracks in 2017. 8 winged WoO events and 8 non-winged events (7 USAC and 1 MSCS). We tried to attend 4 other USAC sprint races but rain decided otherwise. We are hoping to make about the same number of WoO events and more non-wing events in 2018.

Great job writing this year. I live in WI and don't get to Indiana as often as I would like.
Reading your stories keeps me informed.
