You and the promoters are looking at the same racers. Some of those cars are advertising write offs for their business or their buddies business. Some of those haulers are not owned by the teams, but by sponsors. You see the big team and hauler and miss the guy that the purse does matter to. He is the one hidden behind their stacker with the 28 foot enclosed hauler (that he didn't really want, but if you race out of a pickup you can't travel, all your tools and spares WILL be stolen). That guy cares about that extra $100, because his LR has no edges left and he really doesn't want put on that new RR either, but he does want to qualify decent so he sucks it up, and if he can run decent maybe he can spring for some new rubber. And the lack of a shock selection is really biting him im the tail right now, beacause the shocks that got bent last week were the right shocks for this track condition.
