Does anybody remember when gasoline was 35 cents a gallon and diesel was 25 cents. All the oil we used came from the USA and you would drive 20 miles save a nickle a gallon at a gas war across town.
I guess we owe it all to modern chemistry. Wonder what they did to that old Kerosene to make it so much more expensive than gasoline? Sure am glad the oil company's are on our side. ![]() ![]() I also wish we could get more Indiana and Ohio participation at the Shoot Out. Probably when gas gets to $1.50 a gallon and $1.25 diesel would help a little. Don't forget about Du Quoin on February 7th and Florida right after that. I can remember when Du Quoin was right in the center of oil country in Illinois. You can still see a few lonesome oil pumps out in the middle of corn fields on your way to the track. Honest Dad himself ![]() ![]()
