Great racing when the green was out, but wow, did they have yellow flag fever or what? I was beginning to think they might have to stop to refuel. Hotlaps and qualifying were awesome watching them run wide open around the rim.

Looks like all the USAC guys showed up but no support from Badger except for Hatton.

I hate to see it to but Badger guys just don't care to travel if it's not a Badger show.

John,
Johnson and Shreffler were there from Badger also.
There were a couple of USAC guys at the Prairie for the non-cosantioned Badger shows this summer also. Good to see.
Support is a two way street.
Anybody know why Shreffler's time was disallowed? I'm assuming RPM's.

If you want to see good car counts at a midget race , one word, Poweri . The deal with the rev limiter is like he attempt at starters years ago,it ain't working. You can't have a show without cars.

POWRi does not consistently have stellar crowds. I went the the US36 race in Cameron, Mo to watch 22 cars. Of those 22 cars, many were USAC guys (Clauson, Coons Jr, Larson, etc) To make matters worse it was the fourth race in the Midget Money Week program.

I think location has more to do with the car counts than anything else.

I was surprised that more Badger guys did not race at LaSalle. It would seem that the Badger guys would understand the need for car count better than anyone else.

When was the last time a Badger or Poweri car won a Usac race or even came close. It's not worth it for them to show up....costs too much money. Angell park should not have USAC sanction their biggest races next year if they want to grow their local field. It sucks for the few owners left that only have a handful of stand alone shows and then get their armguards blown off at their big races. Atleast let them have Cornfest without Usac. In the good old days that I can remeber there would have been 40-50+ cars for this. Average cars are now so far off the USAC cars it just doesn't make sense for them to bother. That sucks.

Numbers were down but the action was great, somebody needs to get all the midget organizations on the same page or soon there will nothing but winged slot-cars replacing what was midget racing.

Chris, I like POWRI, and yes they draw 25 to 28 cars at little Bellville. When they run elsewhere they have problems drawing cars also. Without non regulars they would have been short in MO last month. I heard the reason Shady Hill cancelled their show was they were only gonna have 8 cars. Problems in midgets are universal.
