Saw one of the best races I've seen at the 2002 Knoxville Nationals. It was I think Thursdays prelim a main. The track was heavy for about one car width on the bottom...and slicked up to the top. But the cushion wasnt up on the wall...there was room to put all 4 tires over the cush. So it was kinda heavy, but kinda slick. Middle never took rubber...just slide job after slide job. That's the best track!

1984 Hulman Classic....slick on the bottom,heavy/rough through the middle and a nice cushion way up high! One track, three separate conditions, three grooves, three different set-ups and three different driving styles all in the same day! Throw in Steve Kinser to battle the USAC heavy hitters that included John Andretti and you have a hell of a show! And believe it or not but there was minimal dust. I have our home video of this, if interested PM me.
