It was the pump. The motor ran like a striped ass ape the whole night!!

Well, glad you found it, that's kinda unusual, but not impossible I suppose, there are lots of possibilities with all these parts, trying to work together, I woulda thought a quick look at the gear in the pump would have indicated a wear problem, that's another good reason to use a good, Klotz Uplon, upper lube, the fuel pump gets no other lube, maybe that's the reason I've not had any pump failures.
