How do other groups handle this?

I understand what you are saying and I respect your opinion. But if it is the same guy that is constantly running into you and tearing up your stuff sometimes a punch in the mouth will put a stop to it. I've seen Bob Kinser punch guys in the mouth for doing something stupid and then have a beer with them like nothing ever happened. It is a matter of respect something a lot of people racing today have very little of for a fellow driver much less for their car or someone elses car

And Kinser yeah I made a lot of my friends in school by getting in a fight w/ them. Principal told us to shake hands & be friends, so we were & still are. But that was way long ago.

Look, I'm not saying if somebody touches your car, you run down and drill 'em.

But, if somebody is constantly banging wheels, or somebody decides to drive through you (instead of around you) >then busting them in the mouth is in order!

Everybody has went into a corner too hot, or thought they could get by somebody but didn't...it's the repeated stupidity and blatant moronic driving, that calls for a 'meeting'. If you got into somebody, and you go down and say 'Sorry', they may or may not accept that...and you should be ready for either.

Like Landon said, there is no sense in tearing up several thousand dollars or your own stuff, or somebody elses...or possibly getting somebody else hurt, by stuffing somebody on the track.

Jesus was the only perfect human to ever walk this earth. I try to do 'right' daily, but sadly, I also fall short of that...daily.

Sorry Bob but I as I sataed earlier I'm not telling who, what, where, when. I did not intend to get anyone in trouble just that I have some drivers, crew members, & others asking me about this incident. I've heard it's been handled. Send dirt track racer 74 a PM, he seems to know.

All of this reminds me of a story about A.J. Foyt getting bumped during a heat race at Terre Haute during a USAC sprint race in the'60s by Johnny White. When they pulled into the pits, Johnny remained strapped into his car with his helmet on while A.J. had a meeting with White, tapping on his helmet with a ballpin hammer to get his attention.

Foyt, by then winner of the Indy 500, was suspended for two races. Cars pitted in the infield back then and it happened in front of the whole grandstands, not out of sight as would be the case today.
I understand that today if a driver goes to another driver's pits following an incident at a USAC race, it is a $500 fine.

There was a deal out here in Iowa about 10 years ago where a modified driver rammed a car in the pits following an on-track incident during a heat race. There were several people standing beside the car when the incident happened. The race track, and the sanctioning body of IMCA, banned the driver for life. There were also ******** charges.

Larry Kemp over at Eldora Speedway should remember the incident well as he was the promoter at Benton County Speedway here in Vinton, Iowa, at the time the incident happened. Justice came swiftly, it was only two or three days of the race that the suspensions were handed down.

When we owned N.A.M.A.R.S. a driver slammed his helmet into another drivers temple at a track in Ohio one night after a race. It wasn't a very good choice for the attacker as he was suspended from racing in N.A.M.A.R.S. for one year. And if anything like that happened again, he would have been prosecuted to the fullest.
This discussion can go on with many, many ways to handle the situation and it cannot be allowed without strong measures. Once that's done, people will think very hard and long before it happens again. The "OLD DAYS" are just that, but in todays world, it really won't work.

When I made the rules for MSCS, the rule was that anyone entering some else pit area to cause trouble or to fight will be automatically suspended for the night with no points and money. Any intentional rough driving or unsportsman like conduct would be handled the same way. This is a good rule, but has to be governed by the people in charge or sanctioning body. The current MSCS people have turned their heads on this situation and has let this rule slide. Sam Stockon Sr. Founder of MSCS
