I think East, Bland, then Dickie could have been bland then east and Dickie. I think the other cars up there were lappers and I was busy watching the top 3 coming to the checkers

No problem. I've taken advantage of enough other people posting updates that I figured it was the least I could do. It is a pretty stressful job though. Lots of pressure to get it right.

I think you had it right with East, Bland, Dickie. GREAT run by Cottle from the back to 5th till he got tangled up with Kinser with 2 to go.

It's been a real good year at Bloomington Speedway! Other than the weeks that Mother Nature KO'd, each feature has been dominated by a group of drivers running up towards the front, that have been all over each other for the better part of the race. This one started out with Brady Short opening up a decent size lead, all while the secondary pack of Jeff Bland, Jon Sciscoe, Bobby East and Jon Stanbrough just participated in a Battle Royale for the middle part of this race. Then, when this pack reeled in Short, and Stanbrough and Sciscoe got around him (when Stanbrough had caught up to and was bearing down on Brady, I just kept hearing the theme to "Jaws" playing, in my head), it looked like JS would check out, but the bottom runner in the #7 car started slowly chipping away at his lead. And while this scenario was playing it's self out, B-Main transfer Shane Cottle had rifled through the field and was up to 5th! Totally under the radar for the majority of the run, because the other battles were so riviting. And then it was stopped for a lengthy yellow when Cottle was entangled with a lapped car. Then finally, when they went back green and Stanbrough checked out, headed for the clear victory and it seemed like the finish was going to be anti-climactic, Sciscoe and Short came to the flagstand leaving everybody wondering who had gotten the runner up spot. And even though I like both drivers, I'm glad that Sciscoe ended up with 2nd, because he was the catalyst, the one that stirred the pot in most of this race's really good battles. This was a race that featured non-stop action and was green most of the way, with very few yellows and no bad crashes the whole night. It honored the memory of Sheldon Kinser very well.

Now, on to Round 2 of this Southern Indiana doubleheader at Tri-State Speedway!!!

Great night at Bloomington Speedway honoring one of OW's best at my favorite track. Good racin' weather. We had a good time among the IOW regulars, meeting some new and "old" faces. Thanks! Track seemed to get better as the night progressed. 'Course, I'm always happy when JRS comes to the front. Cottle made a great run and you'd expect him to. I thought Siscoe did a fine job too.

FYI according to his mother-in-law Susie (who was married to Sheldon, obviously) he was planning to run, but apparently they had engine trouble that was discovered very late and didn't have time to get it fixed. Sucks that he wasn't able to run in an event that has to be pretty important to the family.

It was a blast watching Cottle in the feature. He looked impressive in the B-main, so I kept a close eye on him since he was starting on the back row, I knew he'd be able to pass a lot of cars, but his run was even more impressive than I had counted on! Bummer that he got tangled up with the lapped traffic when he was running top-five and couldn't go for the win.
