Does anyone really, truly know what the payout was for this event? If so let me hear it, it seems no one wants to make it public, and if they did, I missed it.

They are talking about moving it to January 2011.

PIR and USAC are talking about resuming the Copper World Classic as a stand-alone weekend in January 2011. Non-USAC series also might be involved.

"We've had preliminary discussions with USAC about helping us revive the traditional Copper World," PIR President Bryan Sperber said. "We're also working to add other series to the mix. We're being very cautious because the undoing of the original Copper World was economics had put that event in an upside-down situation. Some pretty big names in motorsports are interested in helping us do this."

The pavement SC series is loosing 2 pavement races in oneyear I think the this creates a problem for usac. My guess is they will become a dirt only series in the near future.

What they are saying is usac is not going to be back unless someone brings us 2 dump trucks full of money.

This is what I feared and one of the reasons I have been anxious to see USAC's 2010 schedule. It has been a pet peeve of mine for years that USAC doesn't do enough to promote or advertise there races. An I am not just talking about in Phoenix, I am talking about anywhere I have traveled with them. The one exception was all of the hype USAC's return to Oswego Speedway got, the hype started over the winter and continued up until the race. Maybe USAC needs to hire the company that promoted that race for Kasey Kahne. I could be wrong but in these tough economical times you can not only depend on your loyal fan base to support your races, you have to do all you can to attract new fans as well. That is just my two cents worth.

Could there possibly be another half to this announcement and USAC is returning to Phoenix with the IRL? That would fulfill the dreams of this open wheel girl. If not that means pavement open wheel racing will be gone from Phoenix and that is sad.

Mr Clarke, I didn't see your post before my original post, I can only hope the traditional Copper World is back in Phoenix by 2011.

WHAT A SHAME !!!! There were two good races for the fans to see out west and a great way to promote USAC and there drivers and no one knew the race was happing !!! This is not the first time that USAC has ran there in November, you would think after 15 years of going there that someone at USAC would know someone at the local paper or the local Tv to get the story out. Now that you had a great race and you have it on tape what are you going to do with it (place it on the shelf) get that thing out to other race tracks and promoters to show what kind of package you have to sell. ITs called marketing 101 !!!!

The entry form has been on USAC's website with full payout for at least amonth.

Maybe if you tried look, you would have found it.
