Wouldn't surprise me if this new stadium is over 500. So lets face it open wheel racing is not popular enough to pull this off. at the old rate it would take 16,500 fans @ $20 per head just to cover this. break out the check books. My facts are right on this one, i have the quote from 2006 setting right here on my desk.

HUH? I was questioning 6157s reply, Not Barnhorst.

I seem to remember a thread a year or two ago that the main reason dirt indoor racing isn't held is due to clogging up ventalation (Air Condition ect) and clean up cost.

the only way you get 8,250 fans to a midget race paying $42 is to pay the nascar guys to come. Next problem 1 good snow or ice storm and now the promoter is bankrupt. As much as people do not want to beleive it, indiana is built on automotive, and if you haven't noticed its way down. The other big problem with the stadium, little show called manster jam. They have already sucked up most of the major sponsors in the area because business know they will sell out the place. The only way I see this working is if someone can get Dale Jr in a car. then you would get double the crowd

Tony Barhorst is the ONLY promoter in the United States that is aggressively promoting midget racing, so get over it and move on. I don't understand race fans coming on a message board and trying to drive race teams and promoters out of the sport. I really don't get it.

I don't think that there's anyway that you'd get a dirt race in Lucas Oil Stadium, or any other new stadium. I don't think that you'd ever get the dust and dirt out of the place. JPM stated that the turf can't come up, so that rules out racing on concrete.

I'm pretty sure that Kemper Arena has basically been replaced recently with a new arena. With its age and the fact that there's a new arena in town, it's something that can be done there, but not in Indianapolis.
