I don't think the pavement races went over to good here in Wisconsin. Most fans first choice here in cheeseland is dirt.

I didn't see the Wisconsin races but I did go to the one at Rockford Speedway (i live almost close enough to walk there). Attendance was poor. I don't understand why they can't draw any fans for the open wheel shows there. They had 2 HOSS sprint races a couple years back and had the same problem. The first year Hank Lower won the feature but with the attendance I didn't expect them back. The following year featured an exciting race with Tim Cox and his teammate
putting on a great race through lapped traffic with Cox making the winning pass coming out of four. Unfortunately that was there last appearance there. Now if you have a monster truck show or a trailer race the place is packed. Go figure.

And the pavement fans first choice are Late Models. It was a match made in opposites unfortunately.

Hate to look a gift horse in the mouth with the 4 shows at the Prairie but the dirt show at Dodge County fairgrounds were pretty good too!

I was thinking the same thing. The USAC midget/IRA sprint race last year was great. I was hoping it would be back next year.

Since all of those Wisconsin races were promoted or setup by Dan Thiel last year, I think we can assume he did not do well enough to justify continuing on.

6157 I don"t know what you are assuming but Dan Thiel is going to promote his races this year again. The dates are july 3rd for the Sue Thiel Memorial and sept 4th for the Stan Fox Memorial race. These races are split shows with BMARA Midgets and the Ira Sprint Cars. The midgets pay 4000 to win and 300 to start. These races are going to be at the Dodge County Fairgrounds.I would hope that people have any questions that they would contact Dan about his races instead of assuming, send me a private message and I will give you his phone number.

Very good.

Then the same assumption can be applied as to why they're not on the USAC schedule.

And it doesn't explain why the pavement races aren't back.
