If you read it like it is written, to be able to use a "junk yard" donor motor, you might be out before you start, if you even wash it, or ck the oil in it, before you pull it and race it, where with some of the other options of power, you can do about anything, including using a 2-3 yr old National engine, I think where this needs to go, is KISS, make a single page of rules, and include the cc/cu in max, stroke and bore if you feel it is needed, allow cams and pop up pistons, better rods, valves and springs, and kinda overlook any port work that can be done by any home owner, and letr rip, tater chip. I know this sounds lavish to some, but it sounds like racing to some of us, do what you can do, yourself, you can't make any money with FedEx, UPS, and USPS leaving packages on your doorstep multiple times a day, and the only fun you get is that, opening packages, paying for them is not an option, make it understandable, so the guy that just got home from WWll, as they used to say, can race, have fun, drink a few beers, and laugh with his buddies, and not have to think about not making the next race, with the right man at the helm, this could be a fun ship to enjoy a trip on, I think, but then I'm old, and my memory is still pretty good. Sorry if my rocker and your tail came together, but I feel like it is time to do it right. Bob
Give things a few days I have spoken with Skeet (Aka PBHIndy on here) and he is coming up with a motor that I feel would allow us some more options for drivers. He will be offering those who wish to buy a race ready motor the chance to buy a motor at what I consider a fair and affordable price. When the engine specs comes out this will also apply to those do it yourself racers who want to build their own engines in their garages. It will allow a few minor modifications that we hope will allow the motors to last longer and provide the specified horsepower we are looking for in the series.
