Get out much you need to look at the fence at 90% of the tracks.if It was not for a light pole at Bloomington dicke Gaines would have mad it into the stands been a couple times sitting in turn four thought cars where going to clear the fence it will happen some day

I agree that anything can happen anywhere at anytime but I've not been to many other tracks that I've felt that a car hitting the fence would come through it, into the stands. Kokomo, Gas City, Burg, Even Brownstown would in most cases keep a car from landing in the stands.
I've seen two cars hang on the fence at Bloomington. But sitting high, I feel relatively safe I seen a car with the old fence at Eldora land on the flat outside the fence in turn four. I even seen a car find the one gap in the fence at the old burg to land near the pit table I also seen Gordon a rookie at 13 go flying off three and through he pits at the old burg at probably 70mph.

That fence at TCRP is garden fence post a strong man could bend, Like I said, I seen a hornet go through it like it didn''t exist. Didn't even slow it down and I went to two sprint races there after that.

I know racers know the dangers any time they get in a car. Fans should be reasonably safe IMHO even though it's never 100%

Go, Have fun, I'll pray for saftey and would probably be there if I could. Just wish someone would even in incriments improve the catch fence.

Chances are you would be a car wreck going to or from a race track before you get hit by a car in the grand stands at any track.

They took the dirt off the wall which helped a lot, when the previous promoter had it the dirt was high on the wall.

Many race tracks need improvements, not just Twin Cities. The only thing that concerns me and the other competitors is cutting tires. It is a product of the land in the area and pieces of stock car parts, sharp rocks, etc. The race track has been racy and well prepared though! Keep up the good work, Rick, Renee, The Ogles, Mike, and crew! Hoping the rain will dodge us Saturday! See everyone there!

Montpelier got lucky, I have no idea what it cost them, but they bought used ones from somewhere, and were able to adapt them for their use, it would take a turd boat full of money to put up something like that at TCRP, yes, it would be worth it, over the long haul, but in today's market, who knows how long we'll be able to watch dirt racing anywhere, and, TCRP isn't privy to gambling money to make improvements, that I know of! Oh Gee, I wasn't aware anyone mentioned one of the two tri state tracks with compete speedway fencing, While Idea. Its not totally necessary. There are other ways. THAT's is made up of half the poles being old railroad track.

The fence and wall project at Montpelier was a very very expensive project. Granted we did it as high end as we could (it has been certified to over 200mph). It was easily the most expensive project we have taken on. That was even with us doing the labor and getting a deal on the material.

With that being said with the sprint flip at the BOSS event, the fence 100% did its job and kept everyone safe. The cost of the fence was 200% worth the money we spent.

It is the people in the grandstands that could get hurt. Don't you see?

Brian, I have a friend in your area that keeps me pretty well up on what's going on at your track, he knows you, and I'm sure you know the old pest yourself, he's a native to the area, lives just out of Portland, what you guys were able to do, was a once in a lifetime deal, and as you say, not the least bit inexpensive, what TCRP has is what they've had as long as I can remember, it is chain link fence above a high, concrete wall, that has also been there forever, it is a "fence" to keep most of the big chunks of track, and parts off the spectators, it maybe deflect a race car out of the crowd, but that's it, I'm no expert on the subject by any means, but if the insurance company is satisfied, then it must at least be "somewhat" approved, which again, doesn't mean it's "safe", I think we can all agree that nothing is safe, but having gone there for years, both as a driver, and car owner, and spectator, it works for me, could it be better, of course, anything can, but even at Indy, a spectator got taken out, by a tire, almost as high as he could've been from the catch fence. You've managed to do what a lot are unable to do, and willing to try new classes to help pay for your investments, but then a lot are unwilling to step out of the box. Maybe TCRP will come across something the State Highway is removing that would be a usable catch fence, I just get tired of the whining about it, same thing at Whitewater, what was being broadcast there was about something they were working on to finish, and couldn't stop, because it would've meant shutting down their season, it wasn't a part of the track safety, it was building new seating for the paying customers, beats me!
