Earl tried everything he could with this event to make it successful. Even went to a all four for ten grand format and then cancelled it one year in favor of the Mopar Million which he promised to make happen and did. And then reverted to the 4 crown.
One problem the mods gave was only a handful could get a ride and a ton showed up to take part. Before that it was Late Models. All throughout though At most there were a half dozen who could field all classes. Before 2011 I hadn't attended since the late 90s The problem has always been Friday night and Tony found a way to get a good crowd with the WoO and a portion of that fan base stayed for Saturday, High School and College Football just seem to eat a good chunk and you need a side show to bring em in Just my opinion Winged racing is hard racing, Just not my style of racing. So Side show is my term.

I remember when it was the USAC stock car series as the fourth crown. They were similar to the ARCA dirt cars today. The fourth crown has kind of went away since that series folded. I don't remember open wheel guys running the stock cars back then, but that was a long time ago.

I was there for the first one and most since unless work prohibited my attendance. My favorite event of the year. Would be great if they could get the outlaws and usac to interact more but not holding my breath for that. Happy to see the outlaws for my only time of the year. Wouldn't mind bringing the late models back. Maybe jack would run one of them too! He was always fast in them.
