In about 20 years or so your family will probably look back on you time in Tulsa or racing for that matter and have forgotten all about the expense and hard times. Seem like the only thing that stays with one for a long time is memory of "The Good Times" and in racing what we could have or should have done.

You would probably pay twice that lap price to do it again.

Come to it think of it with inflation factored in I had better say 20 times that price.

How many mini-sprints and parts could you get in a 53 foot trailer if you took off the tail and rear bumper and hauled them sideways?

The biggest expense is that 900 to 1000 miles of hauling a trailer. If you could get a central place to drop your hauler, park it for a week and drive the family car out and know that you stuff would be in Tulsa waiting for you. I bet could cut the race expense in half.

That is what them darned Washington state people did. I think in fact some of them flew out and rented cars.

Just trying to think out of the box. Been a long time since anyone even tried to put me in a box.

I wouldn't go that far. I wouldn't pay now what I paid then to do it again.

There is a heck of a lot of down time for the mini sprint class. It would have been a more worthwhile trip if they were able to run wing and non-wing like the 600s get to do.

Went there 2 years ago and I agree WAY to much down time for just a lightning sprint...2 sets hot laps day 1...heat race day 2...heat race day 3...made the show so no LCQ race day 4 morning...feature that night...then pack up....long week for little....but if you have not done it it is very much needs to be a "BUCKET LIST" idem....

Bet if we showed up with 200 or 250 cars the cars would get more track time, but not each particular team. When you have so many cars to go through and so many classes to run no one is going to get a lot of track time.

Unlike You guys Those guys with them little cars got it all figured out. Even though they did not get on the race track any more than you guys, they knew how to entertain themselves. They just sit back in their pits and play with there little race cars. Bet they blew up more motors in the pits than they did on the race track.

I can still remember the QMA nationals of old, kinda of the same thing, I can still remember those guys in their "BOX STOCKERS" Holding the gas all thew way down for it seemed like an eternity and screwing that little screw on the carburetor looking for that last little rev before the darned thing blew up. The experience was well worth it, It has been more than 50 years now but I can still look back and say that was neat. We met a lot of very interesting and good people along the way.

If you got the time, If you got the money, do it you won't be disappointed. You might learn something.

will be there again this year. I have been waiting all year for this. Should be atleast 5-6 car coming from the illinois wisconsin area. I also wish we could run wing and non wing.

I've got both the time and the money.....what I don't have is a mini sprint, and what I've learned is I don't want one.

I'm taking the wife on a nice vacation down south instead.

You must be one of them quick learners.

Its not about the money. Its all about the driller. Have I gone? Nope, can't get it off due to work. But I get why its important.

Thats the whole reason why i go is for that little golden trophy. I dont care that its expensive or it doesnt pay out squat. The atmoshpere is great and you see your moneys worth of races. ITs a great time and ill go as long as i have a car or can rent a car to go to it.
