Each night of the Gold Crown had a different feel to it. I believe the opening night with midgets only may have been the most competitive all the way through, while the Friday show which played in front of a large crowd had the midgets sharing the program with the MOWA sprints. The track changed after the sprints ran, and the midget racing seemed to be a little less competitive. By Sunday, the groove had moved to the top and there was less track to work with, but the last several laps of the midget feature were very exciting, with lots of action back in the pack. Christopher Bell was simply in another zip code. Overall, a very entertaining event, and one on my must see list every year. I've been to all of them, and I look forward to the announcement of next years dates and the type of program. If it includes sprint cars, I hope it is the non-wing variety.

I think I've been to at least one night for all five Gold Crowns, and I plan on keeping the streak alive. This time of year is a little tricky with weather, and I give Tri-City an A for doing a great job getting this event pulled off.

Agreed. This was my third trip to the Gold Crown. Thanks to the Gundakers for not giving up on this event. Great hospitality & great racing. I thought the micro-midgets were a good second series to run with the midgets. We'll be back next year.
