Hey Bub.... you miss the point with him. He can come on here and rip away because he has no name attached to his posts. The vail of anonymity is a plus obviously.

Oh and USAC Fan..... the "bashing" was going on the other post. Go stir up more crap over on that one. This one has been polite and respectful until you showed up. How bout this one get back on track?

I usually have to travel 300-600 miles to race my midget. There have been very few times that I have raced with MARA and now POWRi that I didn't get a handshake and a thank you from either Kenny Brown or Jim Siner for participating in their midget promotions. Contrary to one of the posts on this thread, it never crossed my mind to start bashing when the officials/promoters come around and personally thank me for showing up. Scott Baue is 100% correct.

I've also raced with USAC many, many times starting in 2002 at Fremont, Ohio. My last outing with USAC was Kokomo and Fort Wayne in 2007. The only person connected with USAC that ever went out of their way to say hello in 7 years was Greg Staab.

In my tenure with USAC that lasted 10+ years I made a point to introduce myself to a new driver or team when they would drop in for the occassional appearance. I always made a point to thank the BMARA guys when they would show up for the Hut 100. I even let Randy Koch borrow my car one day at 16th Street when Harlan's team arrived and the girls needed to eat and the track wasn't open for business yet. At the time he didn't know me from Adam other than the fact that I had a USAC shirt on. We keep in touch still today in his retirement. Just as Scott said these efforts created an opportunity to foster relationships some of which in addition to Randy still remain today. To this day I get weekly updates from Sun Prairie live from a BMARA driver at the track every week.

I have to admit USAC has made some strides since November, the drug policy right out of the box got my attention, the public announcement to try to get the events in by 10:30pm had me shaking my head in affirmation, the personnel moves early on were no brainers, I think they could go another step but like Mr. Miller alluded to...Rome wasn't built in a day.

I give him credit for being consistant for his weekly posts, his open door policy, and getting the fact that it will no matter what he does he will not get a Christmas card from by old buddy DonMoore10.

Keep the changes coming Mr. Miller!

Scott Baue wants you to go to every car and and introduce yourself and let them ***** you out to your face? GIVE ME A BREAK! Kevin Miller is not some lapdog, people. If a team has a problem, PICK UP A PHONE AND CALL KEVIN MILLER. He's shown he's more than willing to answer emails and phone calls. Why is it Kevin's job to treat you like a bunch of 7 year olds and drag it out of you? You sure don't have a problem of ripping him on this message board. I'd like to see a few of you rip him to his face.
The last time I saw this much blind affection for someone/something, Jodie Foster was in the eye of the beholder.

Let me get this straight, you would rather have a Wizard of Oz type of circumstance where someone pulled the strings, but was not accountable for their actions? It's your opinion, but I think it's somewhat wrongheaded.

Who in the heck is going to go off on the guy if he introduces himself and makes himself available for discussion over concerns? If someone doesn't speak to him a proper manner then they should not have the right to discuss it until they can do so calmly.

I have personally found that discussions go much more smoothly when discussed face to face and not hiding behind a keyboard or over the phone. If it doesn't work that way for you then maybe you should review your tatics.

Just because I don't totally agree with what I see at USAC doesn't mean I'm bashing Kevin or USAC for that matter. Many times what we see is only half of the situation and sets up something else in the future.

I do see much of what they are trying to accomplish and I have a general idea of many of the problems he inherited when he took the job. There are many problems that I would say about 95% of the fans and many of the competitors don't even know about. Thing is, none of the problems will ever get solved if there isn't mutual respect from each side. There can only be mutual respect when both sides understand the direction and objectives each are trying to achieve.

I personally hope Kevin becomes the best thing that has ever happened to USAC and I do like some of what they are saying. I know that he was hired to come in and revive the club and make it viable again. I think he is trying or at least trying the best way he can.

Hey Scott, blind affection? Can you read? I don't think you've bothered to read anything I've posted. Nowhere have I expressed anything about Kevin Miller doing right or doing wrong. All I've said is you people bash him constantly and expect him to make USAC a multi-million dollar group overnight. Do you think that's reasonable? It doesn't sound like I'm the one living in the Wizard of Oz..

Half of your post is unintelligible garble. It doesn't even begin to pose a response to any of my posts, so I have no idea why you directed this post at me.

USAC Fan

Welcome to the board, I have a piece of advice for you, if you want your post to have any credibility with the IOW members stop hiding behind a screen name and sign the messages you post on here. The most respected members on this board have no problem signing their names to what they have to say. Sometimes members will agreed with their point of view and other times people will disagree to no end. No one has bashed Mr. Miller.

Everyone on this board knows Kevin Miller was handed the problems that USAC faces today. How he will or will not correct those problems remains to be seen.

Todays economy will dictate where USAC, IRL, NASCAR and short track racing goes from here. Race tracks all over the country are drawing fewer and fewer competitors, less fans in the stands and canceling earlier and earlier at the first chance of bad weather.

IMO Kevin Miller needs to get more exposure for the drivers and teams "the Stars of USAC", having Chad Boat and Cole Witt on TV with him playing up their PA. wins would have been an excellent opportunity. What better story is there to draw youth to the sport, two 16 year olds winning national events against the veterans of the sport.

Oh yea! How's this for intelligible garble::moon:

Does that mean the other half of my post was some of the most brilliant writtings you have ever seen.

Little uptight there aren't ya. I'm not going to get into a pissin' match with you because I have already said what I think.

I think you make my point for me though when you sign on without using your own name and then you want to pick sides when there isn't any sides to be taken. Without clear communications between parties involved you usually end up :angry-smiley-007: and someone usually ends up showing you their:moon:

All kidding aside: I am all about the rebirth of USAC and I hope Kevin is the right man for the job. I'm not bashing USAC or Kevin and if it came off that way I want to let anyone who thought so that it wasn't meant to be that way.
