The number in (parentheses) is the starting position:

Heat #1: #67 Christopher Bell (3), #1 Mitch Wissmiller (5), #6B Andy Baugh (1), #88 Terry Babb (8), #12 Chris Gurley (6), #95 Manny Rockhold(4), #25 Levi Curry (7), #27A Ben Andres (5).

Heat #2: #18 Jarrett Andretti, #99W Cory Weyant (7), #38P Seth Parker (6), #21X Chris Windom (8), #20 Steve Thomas (5), not running at finish #1T Tyler Shoemaker, #42 Cory Bruns, #13 orange car from Mississippi for which I could never catch the drivers name - help?

Feature: #21 Windom (7), #67 Bell (1), #1 Wissmiller (2), #88 Babb (6), #18 Andretti (4), #36P Parker (5), #12 Gurley (9), #99W Weyant (3), #6B Baugh (8). Sorry, I didn't get the rest of it.

I thought Mitch Wissmiller did a great job of holding off Bell and Windom for 24 laps with a motor which sounded somewhat unhealthy. In the support races, in the class for 4 cylinder front-wheel drive cars, the leader managed to get into turn 1 too hot and turned the car over. First we saw that both left side wheels were in the air and then it just kept going. Couldn't believe it. And for those concerned about when the sprint feature would run, they ran 11 heat races and three features and I was back in the van at 8:59. I didn't stay for the last two features, but that gives you an idea of how fast they run the races off in Lincoln. If you haven't been, I really recommend you go.

Bell got the lead at the start and ran the bottom till Wismiller, even with a sick sounding engine flew by on the outside. He lead till about lap 20 or so then sliders started to be traded between Bell and Wismiller, and also Windom in the mix. Windom finally slid his way to the lead, and the win.

Pretty well run program. Heats started at 7:07 and were done about 1 hr later. Went straight into features, with the sprints being 3rd run,and I walked out the gate at 9:04PM. I had thought about watching the other classes, which I normally dont do,but the wind had picked up by then,so I called it a night.

I cant wait for Illinois Midget week there! Also thanks for running the non wing sprints, and letting us know on the message board beforehand. I might not have heard about it otherwise.

Frank beat me out the gate by a few minutes even!

I wish the promoters luck but also wish they would bring in more sprint shows, the race last night proved how good a USAC or MSCS show would b there, instead the track gets killed off with crate late models and midifieds and no one in the stands, being a central Illinois sprint fan and living within 25 minutes of the track I will only be in attendance two more times this year and that sucks, I love that track, can't wait for poweri race in August.

Triston Tidwell was the 13 from Mississippi.

Also Tommy Rockwell in 95...not Manny Rockhold (unless they pulled a switch at the last minute).

Cool to see John Andretti's son on dirt. Following in his fathers footsteps

I fully agree. Not nearly enough openwheel racing in Central Illinois. Even Illinois Midget Week is thin on dates. Hopefully the rumor's with the Knoxville track go through. If so, that will be a very good addition to racing in Illinois.
