It was about 93 degrees that day. Funny thing is, the tunnel to the infield was ankle deep with water. It went from rainout to dustout.

Umm, if you remember, there was a TON of rain leading up to that day... As in the pits were flooded. Very little prep was done to the track, BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET ON THE TRACK! It was a no win situation, and they tried everything they could to make that show happen.

I personally wish they would try a day show again. Maybe a little later in the year like late Sept., or early Oct.

This makes for a good weekend...USAC Sprints at Gas City Fri., Putnamville Sat. and The Silver Crown race at Terre Haute on Sunday.

Day race but a later day race gives them more time to prep. Should be good that time of year. That last one was in July and the heat index was over 100. Should cap off another great weekend of USAC racing in Indiana!

What was awesome about the pits being flooded was that it was open pits for everyone I believe (no pit pass needed) because they were pitting in the RV camping area. There was more kids in the pits that day then I seen anytime ever at any track I been to.

I caught Southwest running a special a few weeks back......$137 round trip.
