Speed Channel is having updates at the bottom of the screen. Nothing yet though. I just keep thinking how that tire went through there like a missile, hope it hit one of those empty seats
The latest on speed says: 15 people injured 4 minor, 10 are in stable condition. The most serious was the guy who got hit by the tire which still had suspension parts hooked to it. He is considered serious but stable and needed surgery.
You can see a shock fly into the upper deck, the wheel still had the hub and brake rotor on it. Kinda like the stuff that flys at the Little 500, thats why we are in row 3
Here is a link to a video I found on Facebook. Keep an eye on the cameraman at the fence and where he is and then where the hole in the fence is when the guy pans back. Serious stuff.
hope those injured spectators will recover, wheel offs are terrible and should be a major target in regard to prevention/ tandem racing puts drivers in uncontrolled rockets (i honestly don't know how they're able to do it?) glad kyle and apparently all the drivers are o k . hopefully gnassy wasn't watching, he might decide that nascar racing's too dangerous
